Rogers blanks Reds for five frames to pick up win

A sixth-inning solo shot to Seiya Suzuki was the only rough spot for Rogers, who now carries a 1.73 ERA in his last seven starts in which he’s looked eerily like 2025 Trevor Rogers again, striking out 31 batters but allowing just 29 hits over 41 2/3 innings. He could be an interesting trade target for other teams if the Orioles stagnate in July. Fantasy managers should stay on the ride while it’s going this well -- this is not the first time we’ve seen this from Rogers.

Rogers didn’t allow a hit or a walk through the first three innings of this one. He would allow a leadoff double to James Wood to start the top of the fourth inning. Rogers would benefit from a solid defensive effort from Blaze Alexander, who threw James Wood out at home on a fielder’s choice, allowing Rogers to escape the inning without allowing a run. Rogers has settled in nicely after a rough start to the season. He ends the month of June with a 3-1 record, a 2.05 ERA, and a 0.91 WHIP. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday at home against the White Sox.

The six hard-hit balls against Rogers were mostly routine flies, and the one hit he allowed was a blooper to shallow center from Tommy Edman. He struck out six to match his season high and walked two. That Rogers had fanned a total of 21 in 35 2/3 innings over seven starts since coming off the IL last month didn’t bode well, but this was probably his most encouraging effort since April. We still don’t have a ton of faith in him at the moment, but a home start against the Nationals next week isn’t a terrible matchup.

Rogers struck out four in another solid showing. After going 0-6 with a 10.01 ERA in seven starts from mid-April through the end of May, he’s come in at 3.12 in three starts in June. It’s enough to make him playable in mixed leagues again, though he’s not a great bet while facing the Dodgers in Los Angeles next weekend.

Rogers struck out three and walked one in a second straight solid start after a rather lengthy run of futility. Still, he was far from dominant in giving up 10 hard-hit balls and recording seven whiffs. He’ll pitch at home against the Padres on Sunday.

Rogers was given a six-run lead before he threw his first pitch and didn’t mess it up while allowing five hits, walking one and striking out three. Rogers came into this one 0-6 with a 10.01 ERA in his previous seven starts, so maybe this is the start of a turnaround. Still, it’d be nice to see him strike out more than three batters for once. He last did that seven starts ago on Apr. 19. He’ll face the Mariners next.

Rogers carried a shutout into the seventh inning before coughing up homers to Kazuma Okamoto and rookie Charles McAdoo, which spoiled an otherwise strong performance. He struck out three and only issued one walk. The results simply haven’t been there for Rogers to warrant consideration for a roster spot in fantasy leagues as he holds a bloated 6.84 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 38/18 K/BB ratio across 48 1/3 innings. He’s shown zero signs that he’s going to turn things around either. He’ll face the Red Sox at Fenway Park his next time out on Thursday.

Rogers struck out two and walked two. Things got off to a poor start with Dillon Dingler’s two-run homer in the first. Rogers began the year with three quality starts, but he’s given up four or more runs in five of his past six outings. Last year’s 1.81 ERA has dramatically regressed, and he’ll carry a 6.96 into his next scheduled start versus the Blue Jays.

Rogers has been obliterated for 14 runs over 7 2/3 innings across a pair of starts since returning from the injured list on May 12. The 28-year-old southpaw is positively radioactive from a fantasy standpoint with an abysmal 6.87 ERA across 38 innings this season. There’s no reason to believe he’ll turn things around anytime soon.

Rogers had a bad first month of the season with a 4.75 ERA before missing two starts with an illness. In his return to the Orioles’ rotation, he gave up six runs to the Yankees. The big blows were a leadoff home run by Paul Goldschmidt and a three-run home run by Trent Grisham that capped a five-run third inning. Rogers is lined up to face the Rays on the road on Monday, giving him a two-start week next week.
