Nimmo returns to right field and is hitting cleanup following a four-game absence after suffering a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder last weekend. The 33-year-old corner outfielder somehow managed to avoid a trip to the injured list and only wound up missing a couple games. He’s hitting .262/.333/.420 with eight homers, 29 RBI and three steals in 354 plate appearances in his Rangers debut this season.

The Rangers remain hopeful that he’ll be able to avoid a stint on the injured list, but if this extends into the weekend, their hand may end up being forced. Ezequiel Duran will once again start in his place in right field and will bat third for the Tigers against left-hander Framber Valdez on Thursday evening in Arlington.

He’s shown a propensity to play through lingering physical issues this season, so there’s a decent chance he avoids a trip to the injured list. There should be an update on his status prior to Tuesday’s contest.

Nimmo’s home run was his eighth of the season. He hit a solo shot off Tyler Zuber in the eighth inning. Nimmo was hitting .306 in 19 games in June entering play Tuesday, but had no home runs. He’s hitting .271 with a .772 OPS and 28 RBI this year.

Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI on Thursday as the Rangers bested the Royals in Kansas City.

Nimmo opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI double off of Michael Wacha in the top half of the first, but he was cut down trying to stretch it into a triple. He also led off the sixth inning with a double but was erased on a fielder’s choice. With his two-hit afternoon, the 33-year-old outfielder is now slashing .259/.334/.408 with seven homers, 23 RBI and two stolen bases over 287 plate appearances in his first season with the Rangers.

Brandon Nimmo hit a two-run homer versus the Royals in Friday’s victory.

Nimmo hit a 435-foot homer off Stephen Kolek two innings after his 407-foot blast to center came up just a little short. Statcast said the first drive would have been a homer in 14 ballparks. Nimmo has seven homers while hitting .263/.344/.427 this season. The .769 OPS is 33 points shy of his career mark, but it’s good for a 128 OPS+ that beats his career output of 124.

Brandon Nimmo went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks on Monday in a loss to the Astros.

There weren’t a ton of bright spots for the Rangers in this one as Tatsuya Imai and a pair of Astros relievers combined on a no-hitter. Nimmo walked twice in the contest and struck out looking to end it against rookie reliever Alimber Santa on a nasty sweeper that just caught the bottom of the zone. Texas has been struggling to get anything going offensively for a couple games as they’ve dropped four straight and have scored just three runs combined over their last three games.

Nimmo was back in Texas’ lineup after making an early exit from Wednesday’s contest with hamstring tightness. The 33-year-old took Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez deep in the fourth inning for his sixth round-tripper of the season. He also added a run-scoring double in the seventh as part of a multi-hit effort.
