    Cardinals recalled RHP Gordon Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis.

    Graceffo returns to the big leagues with rookie reliever Max Rajcic hitting the shelf with an elbow injury. The 26-year-old has delivered a respectable 3.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 18/19 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings across 35 appearances at the highest level this season. He’ll continue operating in low-leverage spots for the Cardinals.

He then singled, stole a base, and scored a run in the fourth before collecting his third hit to lead off the sixth. The 26-year-old infielder is hitting .239/.280/.432 with five homers and three steals across 93 plate appearances.

    Liam Hicks went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a walk against the Guardians on Saturday.

    Hicks drew a walk in the first inning, then knocked a base hit in the fifth. He then singled in the seventh to reach for a third time and drive in the team’s only run in the game. The 27-year-old backstop is hitting .289/.362/.459 with 13 homers, 50 runs scored, and 58 RBI across 338 plate appearances.

    Cade Smith got the day off after pitching in three straight games. It was Holderman who was summoned with a three-run lead in the ninth. He pitched a clean inning to get the job done, converting his first save.

    Tanner Bibee allowed one run with three strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

    Bibee was solid on Saturday, holding the Marlins scoreless through six innings. He returned for the seventh and gave up a double with two outs. That would do it for him at 94 pitches with three strikeouts. He scattered five hits and four walks. The inherited runner would come in to score. The 27-year-old right-hander ends the first half with a 3.90 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and an 87/34 K/BB ratio across 113 innings.

    Eury Pérez gave up two runs and struck out six batters over six innings in a loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

    Pérez loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning, then escaped the jam with a strikeout and ground-ball double play. He settled in for two more scoreless frames before giving up a pair of runs on three hits in the fourth. Pérez gave the Marlins two more scoreless innings, ending his day after six with six strikeouts. The 23-year-old right-hander has pitched incredibly well over his last six starts, giving up five runs over 33 1/3 innings. He’ll enter the All-Star break with a 3.78 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 95/34 K/BB ratio across 85 2/3 innings.

    Ryan Waldschmidt will likely be available off the bench Saturday, according to manager Torey Lovullo.

    Waldschmidt had a CT scan this morning that confirmed there was no break in the thumb he injured on a bunt attempt Friday. The Diamondbacks have Tommy Troy starting in center tonight.

    Zac Gallen has been scratched from his scheduled start Sunday due to elbow inflammation.

    He’s likely to go on the IL, with Mitch Bratt being called up to start in his place against the Dodgers. Gallen is just 3-9 with a 6.34 ERA through 19 starts this season. He’s been even worse while losing each of his last four starts, posting a 9.67 ERA and striking out just 11 in 22 1/3 innings. He’s on a one-year, $22.05 million contract after struggling to find a multiyear deal in free agency last winter.

    Bichette was out of the lineup for a second straight game against the Red Sox because of right leg soreness. He was obviously available to hit, but as soon as he reached, the Mets replaced him with Tyrone Taylor at first base.

    Schmitt broke a tie game in the sixth inning, taking Kyle Freeland deep for a three-run blast to lead the Giants to a win. The home run was number 19 for Schmitt. The 27-year-old slugger has had a breakout season so far, slashing .280/.309/.500 with 42 runs scored, 50 RBI, and seven steals across 366 plate appearances.
