Josue De Paula goes 1-for-2 in Futures Game

His teammate Mike Sirota also homered while extending his on-base streak to a surreal 65 consecutive games. The tandem were named to the National League’s roster for the upcoming 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game earlier this week. It was De Paula’s second multi-homer performance of the season as he’s slashing a robust .322/.419/.563 with 15 round-trippers and 21 steals in 73 games. The Athletic’s Katie Woo reported earlier this week that De Paula is basically the lone untouchable prospect in Los Angeles’ system approaching next month’s trade deadline. He’s evolved into a top-five range fantasy prospect in dynasty leagues and has a chance to be a five-category monster as part of the Dodgers loaded lineup once he reaches the majors.

Made is the consensus top-overall prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. The 19-year-old prodigy is hitting .281/.355/.411 in 67 games at Double-A with seven home runs, 51 RBI, 51 runs scored, 23 steals, and a 46/31 K/BB ratio. He joins Nationals shortstop Eli Willits (third-overall prospect), Dodgers outfielder Josue De Paula (fourth-overall prospect), Pirates righty Seth Hernandez (sixth-overall prospect) as the clear headliners on the senior circuit squad. The 2026 MLB All-Star Future Game will take place Sunday, July 12 at Noon ET on NBC.

It’s easy to forget that the Dodgers boast one of the strongest farm systems in baseball with a quartet of elite outfield prospects in De Paula, Eduardo Quintero, Zyhir Hope and Mike Sirota. Not to mention the emergence of James Tibbs III at Triple-A this year. The 20-year-old prodigy is among the most intriguing fantasy-wise based on his power/speed blend and has a real shot at making it to Los Angeles by the end of the year or early next season.

DePaula is a top-20 prospect in dynasty formats and ranks alongside fellow outfielders Eduardo Quintero, Zyhir Hope and Mike Sirota at the top of Los Angeles’ farm system. The 20-year-old phenom has a chance to make his big-league debut later this season after hitting .250/.391/.400 with 12 homers and 32 steals in 445 plate appearances between Double-A Tulsa and High-A Great Lakes last year. It’s a tough break for Ward, who has been marooned at the Triple-A level for several years now and seemingly has nothing left to prove in the Pacific Coast League. He’ll have to wait a bit longer for his chance.

The double was a 110-mph line drive. De Paula, one of the game’s best prospects, is 5-for-9 this spring. Still just 20, he’s coming off a season in which he hit .263/.406/.421 with 12 homers and 32 steals in 98 games in High-A ball. He made a four-game cameo in Double-A at season’s end, and he’ll likely spend most of 2026 at that level.

De Paula took top pitching prospect Noah Schultz of the White Sox deep for the three-run job to take home MVP honors. The 20-year-old is considered one of the best outfield prospects in baseball, and represents yet another potential star for the Dodgers. He’s currently in High-A, so it’s unlikely we see De Paula in the majors before the end of 2026 at the earliest.

Wetherholt — who was promoted to Triple-A Memphis earlier this week — headlines a senior circuit lineup that includes rising fantasy sensation Konnor Griffin, who has emerged as arguably the top prospect in the entire dynasty landscape during his professional debut. It also features Dodgers burgeoning sluggers Zyhir Hope and Josue De Paula in addition to Brewers phenom Jesús Made, who has cemented his status as a top-10 dynasty prospect in the game. Here’s the full lineup: Wetherholt (DH), Griffin (SS), Owen Caissie (RF), Charlie Condon (1B), Hope (CF), Made (2B), De Paula (LF), LuJames Groover (3B), Joe Mack (C) and JR Ritchie (P).

De Paula, who doesn’t turn 20 years old until later this month, turned in the second multi-homer performance of his professional career on Saturday afternoon. He’s up to six round-trippers on the season as one of the youngest players in the Midwest League and is cementing his status along with power/speed combo teammate Zyhir Hope as a top-20 dynasty prospect until further notice.

The 23-year-old backstop doesn’t have much left to prove in the minor leagues, but with Will Smit and Austin Barnes holding things down at the game’s highest level, he’ll need to work his way into the crowded outfield mix in order to have any shot of breaking camp. He’ll be an intriguing option for fantasy purposes when he does finally arrive in Los Angeles, but it’ll probably take an injury to Smith or Barnes for it to happen. Roki Sasaki and Zyhir Hope also received official invitations to spring training on Friday.
