Josue De Paula went 1-for-2 with a single on Sunday in the All-Star Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
De Paula lined a singled to center field in the fourth inning before being lifted for his Double-A teammate Mike Sirota in the fifth inning. The 21-year-old top prospect came up short in his bid to become the first-ever MVP in the 27-year history of the All-Star Futures Game. He’s had a phenomenal year at Double-A Tulsa, slashing .322/.417/.547 with 15 homers and 25 steals in 80 games, looking like a future five-category fantasy monster in the process.
