The Yankees signed No. 63 selection Sean Duncan to a $2,497,500 signing bonus.
That’s a little over a million over the allocated slot bonus of $1,451,700 that comes with the 63rd selection. Duncan is a product of Canada, and is widely considered one of the best southpaw pitching prospects in the class. He doesn’t turn 19 until next May, so there’s a good chance he won’t be ready for the majors for several seasons. He’s certainly a name to keep an eye on in dynasty/keeper formats, however.
