Eric Lauer improves to 4-0 with Dodgers

Means is working his way back from offseason surgery after rupturing his Achilles last December. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw spent all of last season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery with the Guardians. The encouraging news here is that he figures to be ready for the start of spring training and could be in the mix for a spot in Kansas City’s rotation.

Susana is one of the hardest-throwing starting pitching prospects in the game and he displayed his premium velocity in his first Triple-A outing, topping out at 102.6 mph in the 66-pitch effort. The electrifying 22-year-old is one of the better fantasy prospects in the game solely because his strikeout upside is off the metaphorical charts if everything comes together. Susana remains a work in progress after missing significant time due to injury in each of the last two seasons. He’s the caliber of pitching prospect that fantasy managers need to follow closely as he continues his trajectory towards Washington’s rotation.

It would be fascinating to see Davidson get a cup of coffee with San Francisco in the final week of the regular season after starting the year in Double-A as a relative unknown outside of the prospect and dynasty community. The 24-year-old is the extremely rare undrafted player that turns into a legitimate prospect and has torn the cover off the ball this season, slashing .284/.353/.523 with 29 homers and 19 steals in 536 plate appearances in the upper minors. He offers an interesting set of fantasy-relevant tools and is a name that fantasy managers should be watching closely next spring.

Kuroda-Grauer is unlikely to return to the majors before the regular season concludes, but he’s expected to have a normal offseason and be a full-go at the outset of spring training. That’s the most positive outcome after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured testicle back in late July. He should factor into the Athletics’ infield mix next spring.

Santander took a couple games off earlier this week due to lower back discomfort. He’s technically in the mix for a postseason roster spot, if Toronto makes it that far, but he’s barely played over the last two years due to shoulder issues. He’s more of a complete Wild Card as opposed to a sure thing at this stage of his career.

Ward has received some buzz as a potential postseason roster candidate given his game-changing speed on the bases. The 27-year-old speedster would provide the Red Sox with a legitimate weapon off the bench, which could wind up making the difference in a shorter playoff series, especially since they’re struggled to score runs at times. He’s a name to watch in the next couple weeks.

Eldridge, a surprising scratch Friday, banged his head on a low-hanging ceiling at the Giants team hotel. However, he passes tests afterwards, and it sounds like he might have played tonight if the Giants were in the race.

Rebounding nicely from a couple of subpar outings, Glasnow allowed just three hits and three hard-hit balls tonight. He’s now 5-1 with a 3.46 ERA. His last start of the regular season will likely come Thursday against the Padres.

Expectations are low for Díaz at the moment, but he was sharp tonight in throwing 12 of his 17 pitches for strikes while pitching with a six-run lead. He averaged 97.6 mph with his fastball, with his 1.3 mph better than his season norm, and he lowered his ERA from 11.85 to 11.05.

Perdomo did a nice job limiting the damage in an outing in which he allowed six hits, walked three and struck out just one. He’ll probably make a final start next week against the Twins.
