Gabriel Moreno went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday’s win over the Nationals.

Moreno two hits didn’t result in any runs being scored, but in the top of the seventh inning, his sacrifice fly to bring in Ketel Marte put the Diamondbacks up 3-2, which would end up being the final score. Moreno’s two-hit night pushed his hitting streak to five-straight games, and he is now slashing a blistering .394/.464/.493 in July with a week left to go in the month.
Angels' Joyce firmly among MLB's 'best relievers'
James Schiano breaks down Ben Joyce's recent play after he recorded his third straight save on Tuesday night, sharing why he needs to be "scooped up" in fantasy leagues.

Tyler Glasnow (back) recorded nine strikeouts and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Next stop: Los Angeles. Glasnow delivered a dominant performance in his likely final rehab outing, carrying a shutout into the sixth inning while throwing 54 of 77 pitches for strikes. He averaged 95.5 mph on his four-seam fastball and generated 12 swinging strikes. The 32-year-old has been out with a lingering back issue since early May. He’s in line to take the ball against Atlanta next week.

Yandy Díaz went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Rays defeated the Blue Jays 7-6 on Wednesday.

Díaz’s homer was a two-run shot off Max Scherzer in the bottom of the first. The hit tied him with B.J. Upton for the fifth-most home runs in Rays history and with Carlos Pena for the fourth-most RBI. It has been another strong season for the veteran, as he’s hitting .306 with an .841 OPS. His 138 wRC+ ranks inside the top 15 among qualified hitters.

Drew Rasmussen earned the win on Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings pitched.

Rasmussen also struck out five. He gave up a solo homer to Alejandro Kirk early on, the first long ball he’s allowed since the All-Star break. Things worsened in the fifth, and three of the four runs he surrendered in that inning came with two outs. Rasmussen is up to 134 1/3 innings in 2026, closing in on the career-best 150 he threw last season. He’ll look to rebound next time out against the Tigers.

Bryan Baker struck out one in a scoreless ninth, earning the save in the Rays’ 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.

Make that 36 saves for Baker this year, which leads MLB and is four more than Riley O’Brien, who ranks second. It has been a tremendous season for the closer, who has a 1.44 ERA. Most of the offseason was spent wondering how Tampa Bay would split save chances among Griffin Jax, Garrett Cleavinger, and Edwin Uceta. While all three have dealt with injury, Baker seized the job early on. His success is a reminder of how tricky it can be to pinpoint a closer when a bullpen lacks an obvious candidate.

Max Scherzer took the loss on Wednesday against the Rays, allowing seven earned runs on five hits and three walks over four innings pitched.

The future Hall of Fame starter had pitched better lately, but he surrendered a two-run homer to Yandy Díaz in the bottom of the first and dealt with some poor defense later on. He’s been on the injured list twice this season but continues to take the mound for Toronto when he’s healthy enough to do so. He’ll face the Royals at home next time out.

Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI as the Blue Jays fell to the Rays 7-6 on Wednesday evening.

Kirk’s homer was a solo shot off Drew Rasmussen in the fourth inning, the first long ball he has allowed since the All-Star break. It was also the second straight game in which Kirk left the yard, and he entered Wednesday hitting .392 in August. The 27-year-old backstop has the highest wRC+ on the Blue Jays this season.

Jo Adell (knee) was unavailable for Wednesday’s game against the Giants.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt told reporters Adell wasn’t available off the bench after being held out of Wednesday’s lineup. The 27-year-old slugging corner outfielder fouled a ball off his left knee in the early stages of Tuesday’s game where he went on to homer and drive in six runs afterwards. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status leading into Thursday’s series finale.

Parker Messick took the loss in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to the Giants, striking out 10 while pitching 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball.

Messick allowed six hits without walking anyone but took a tough-luck loss. His 10 punchouts tied his career high, and the outing marked a full calendar year since his big-league debut on August 20, 2025. He entered Wednesday’s start with the sixth-lowest ERA among qualified starters during that span. He’ll aim to keep pitching like one of the best arms in the American League next time out in a favorable matchup versus the Angels.

Matt Wilkinson allowed one hit while throwing two scoreless innings in Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over the Guardians.

Wilkinson started but was effectively used as an opener, limited to 25 pitches before Adrian Houser took over and threw the next five frames. “Tugboat” didn’t record any strikeouts while averaging 90.1 mph with his four-seamer. He was drafted by the Guardians in 2023 but traded to the Giants earlier this season as part of a package for catcher Patrick Bailey. He won’t have fantasy value unless he gets stretched out at the big-league level.

Dylan Smith struck out five over two scoreless innings to earn the save in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over the Guardians.

Smith allowed just one hit and didn’t walk anyone. The save was his third of the season, and he has two of the Giants’ three this month. San Francisco’s bullpen has been a sore spot all season as nine different relievers have earned at least one save. Caleb Kilian leads the unit with eight, but Smith looks like the best bet for ninth-inning chances right now. That said, opportunities could be scarce if this remains a committee like it’s been all year.
