Evan Carter went 2-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base in a win for the Rangers on Tuesday over the Rays.

He also drew a walk for a three-reach day. Carter’s RBI came on an opposite-field single to left that extended the Rangers’ lead to 3-1, and gave the 23-year-old his 28th run driven in of 2026. The steal was his 14th, and Carter has provided some value on the bases while showing a solid approach at the plate. Unfortunately, it hasn’t come with much help in other categories this year, and his .204 average and .352 slugging percentage are tough to stomach.

Carter will take a seat with left-hander Cade Povich toeing the slab for the Orioles on Sunday afternoon. Cam Cauley will start in his place in center field and will bat ninth for the Rangers on Sunday at Globe Life Field.

Evan Carter went 2-for-2 and swatted a solo home run on Thursday as the Rangers routed the visiting Tigers.

Carter entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning where he reached on an infield single and came around to score on an RBI knock by Alejandro Osuna. He then crushed a 422-foot (104.4-mph EV) solo shot off of Kyle Finnegan in the eighth inning that increased the Rangers’ lead to 10-4. With his two-hit attack, the 23-year-old outfielder is now slashing .186/.295/.338 with seven homers, 22 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 241 plate appearances on the year.

Rangers activated OF Evan Carter from the 10-day injured list.

On the day that the Rangers lose Wyatt Langford (hamstring) to the injured list, they at least get reinforcements in the return of Carter. The 23-year-old outfielder had been shelved since June 13 due to a right oblique strain. He’ll start in center field and bat seventh against Blue Jays’ right-hander Shane Bieber on Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

Evan Carter (oblique) went 2-for-2 with a solo homer on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Frisco.

Carter clobbered a leadoff homer and reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances during his rehab debut. He also logged five innings in center field. The 23-year-old will likely get a couple additional contests under his belt to get back up to speed before returning to the Rangers lineup. He’s been out with a minor right oblique strain since mid-June.

Rangers placed OF Evan Carter on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.

No word on the severity of the strain, which will determine how much time Carter misses. The 23-year-old suffered the injury while making a phenomenal diving catch in shallow center field during Friday’s series opener against the Red Sox. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point later this weekend.

Evan Carter was removed from Friday’s game against the Red Sox with right oblique tightness.

It sounded like a precautionary move when Carter left Friday’s contest in the fifth inning following a phenomenal defensive play in left field the prior inning. He’ll undergo further evaluation and possibly imaging this weekend to determine the severity of the issue. The 23-year-old was 0-for-2 at the dish prior to leaving the contest at Fenway Park.

Evan Carter (foot) is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Cardinals.

Carter returns to patrolling center field following a brief two-game absence after being hit by a pitch on the left foot during last Friday’s game. The 23-year-old underwent X-rays that came back negative for any fractures, but needed a couple days off for the pain and swelling to subside.

Carter hasn’t played since exiting Friday’s game after being hit on the foot by a pitch from Eli Morgan. He was able to avoid any fractures, but it still dealing with a bit of soreness and swelling. He should return to the lineup in another day or two. Michael Helman will once again start in his place in center field and will bat ninth against Royals’ right-hander Michael Wacha.

Evan Carter will undergo X-rays on his left foot after being hit by a pitch during Friday’s game against the Royals.

Carter is out of the lineup for Saturday’s showdown at Globe Life Field and will undergo imaging to determine whether he suffered any fractures when he was hit on the back foot by a slider from Guardians reliever Eli Morgan. He managed to remain in the contest after the incident, which is somewhat encouraging. An update on his status should come later this weekend.

Carter takes a seat against righty Seth Lugo with Michael Helman getting an opportunity in center field. The 23-year-old former top prospect has been struggling for a couple weeks, batting .136 (12-for-88) with three homers and five steals over his last 30 games.

With Ray Kerr joining the big league roster on Sunday, someone needed to get the boot from the Braves’ bullpen and unfortunately for Young, he drew the short straw this time. The 32-year-old has struggled to an 8.03 ERA, 2.27 WHIP and a 15/13 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings in 16 appearances with the Braves this season.

The 31-year-old southpaw has finally made it all the way back after undergoing surgery in June o 2024 to repair a torn UCL in his pitching elbow. He made nine appearances across four minor league levels, posting a 3.09 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 16/5 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings. He should provide a nice boost to the Braves’ bullpen.

Yusei Kikuchi (shoulder) was obliterated in a minor league rehab start at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, giving up eight runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The 35-year-old southpaw struck out eight batters in the contest while issuing a pair of walks. Seven of those eight runs came during the first inning, after which he settled in nicely. He threw 80 pitches (56 strikes) in the ballgame, so physically he’s probably ready to rejoin the Angels’ rotation over the weekend unless they want to see him have success in a minor league setting first.

It took facing the Royals to get Detmers his first win since June 16 and fourth overall in 25 starts. It’s the third time in his career that he’s completed eight innings and the eighth time he’s struck out at least 10. Detmers certainly would have been a better bet down the stretch in fantasy leagues had the Angels sent him to a contender to the deadline. He’ll take on the Rangers next time out.
