Nick Kurtz exits game with forearm contusion

The Yankees got to Rodriguez right away, putting three runs on the board in the first inning on a pair of home runs by Spencer Jones and Jazz Chisholm Jr. Two hits and a groundout brought a fourth run in to score in the third inning. Rodriguez did a nice job giving the Angels three more frames before leaving at 102 pitches after six innings. The 26-year-old right-hander will carry a 6.03 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and a 72/33 K/BB ratio across 77 2/3 innings into a start against the Red Sox in Boston on Monday.

Harper had a stellar day at the plate, reaching in all five of his plate appearances. After knocking a base hit in the first and third innings, he drew a walk and scored in the fifth before collecting his third single in the seventh. Harper later added an insurance run with his fourth hit in the eighth to drive in a run. The 33-year-old star is hitting .274/.392/.509 with 27 homers, 85 runs scored, 80 RBI, and seven steals across 595 plate appearances.

Lawlar got the start in center field on Tuesday with a left-hander on the mound for the Phillies. He provided the only run on the night for Arizona, taking Jesús Luzardo deep for a solo homer in the fifth inning. It was the fourth home run of the season for the 24-year-old outfielder. He’s hitting a respectable .288/.358/.479 across 82 plate appearances, but is mostly limited to playing time in a short-side platoon against left-handed pitching.

Luzardo held the Diamondbacks scoreless through four innings before giving up a solo homer to Jordan Lawlar in the fifth. That would be all the damage the D-backs could get across on Luzardo as he pitched into the seventh, leaving with two outs at 99 pitches with six strikeouts. The 28-year-old left-hander will take an excellent 3.02 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 209/51 K/BB ratio across 169 2/3 innings into a start against the Braves in Philadelphia on Monday.

Rodriguez allowed two runs on a walk and two hits in the first inning. After three scoreless frames, he gave up a third run on a walk and two hits in the fifth. He’d depart at 103 pitches after five frames with three strikeouts. The 33-year-old left-hander will take a 2.59 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 122/55 K/BB ratio across 167 innings into a start against the Royals in Kansas City on Monday.

Rumfield drew a walk in the first inning, then went hitless in his next two at-bats before coming through for the Rockies in the seventh. With the game tied and a runner on, he took Luis De León deep for a go-ahead, two-run blast. The home run was his 14th of the season while hitting .290/.384/.443 with 56 runs scored and 63 RBI across 547 plate appearances.

Holliday had an excellent day at the plate in Colorado, starting with a leadoff single in the first inning. He added another base hit in the fifth before taking Jaden Hill deep for a solo homer in the seventh. The 22-year-old infielder is up to seven homers, 39 runs scored, 28 RBI, and eight steals while slashing .233/.315/.359 across 309 plate appearances.
