MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports that the Phillies are set to acquire 2B Luis Arraez and RHP Caleb Kilian from the Giants for minor league RHPs Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair.

Arraez is continuing to do what he’s always done and hit, slashing .324/.360/.440 on the season for the Giants with four home runs, 52 runs scored, and 10 steals. What’s new this year is that he’s playing tremendous defense at second base. Which begs the question of what’s next for the Phillies? The Phillies have Bryson Stott at second base, Bryce Harper at first base, and Kyle Schwarber at DH, so there don’t seem to be any openings for Arraez. They could opt to move Bryce Harper back to the outfield, or perhaps Stott or third baseman Alec Bohm will be headed somewhere else today.

Luis Arraez singled and scored Philadelphia’s lone run in a 2-1 loss to the Astros on Thursday afternoon.

He broke up Cristian Javier’s no-hitter in the fifth inning and came around to score on a Bryson Stott fielder’s choice. Arraez is hitting .298/.317/.397 since joining the Phillies with two homers and no stolen bases, but he has managed 15 RBI while mostly hitting out of the four hole.

Luis Arraez is absent from the Phillies’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles.

The Phillies will get Arraez a breather with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi taking the mound for the Angels. Bryson Stott will slide over and cover second base while Edmundo Sosa draws a start at third base and will bat fifth for the Phillies.

Luis Arraez (lower body) is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Mariners.

Arraez is at second base and hitting cleanup after missing Sunday’s series finale against the Cardinals with a lower-body issue. The contact-oriented 29-year-old is batting .311 (23-for-74) with two homers and 11 RBI in 18 games since coming over from the Giants at the trade deadline.

Luis Arraez (lower body) was held out of the Phillies’ starting lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Cardinals.

The 29-year-old infielder was removed from Saturday’s game after three innings due to lower body cramps. It doesn’t sound like anything that should require a trip to the injured list, but the Phillies will give him an extra day to get right. Bryson Stott will slide over and cover second base while Edmundo Sosa starts at third base and will bat eighth for the Phillies against Kyle Leahy and the Cardinals.

Luis Arraez left Saturday’s game after three innings with lower body cramps.

Consider him day-to-day, Arraez seemed to having issues after rounding second on an Alec Bohm single. He stayed in and came around to score, but he was replaced by Bryson Stott at second base for the start of the fourth.

Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Phillies defeated the Marlins 4-1 on Wednesday evening.

Arraez’s homer was a two-run shot off Sandy Alcantara in the bottom of the third. It was his second round-tripper with his new team. The lefty-hitting infielder has started at second base and hit cleanup in all 15 games since the Phillies acquired him before the trade deadline.

Luis Arraez went 3-for-5 with three singles on Thursday evening as the Phillies triumphed over the Twins in the Field of Dreams game.

None of his three singles produced a run and Arraez was left stranded each time that he reached base. The three-time batting champion is having another outstanding season in the category, slashing .316/.350/.434 with five homers and 49 RBI in 511 plate appearances between the Giants and Phillies.

Phillies placed RHP Caleb Kilian on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain.

There’s a chance that Kilian’s season is over after suffering the injury over the weekend. The 29-year-old was hit hard in four relief outings for the Phillies after coming over from the Giants at the trade deadline last week.

Caleb Kilian suffered an apparent side injury on his final pitch of the 12th inning Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Kilian was done for the day regardless, but he seemed to be in quite a bit of pain after getting Alejandro Kirk to popup. It definitely looked like the kind of thing that would lead to an IL stint.

Jackson Holliday will get surgery on his left wrist in the next week.

Holliday was placed on the injured list on Monday, and Orioles manager Craig Albernaz confirmed that the 22-year-old has a TFCC tear in his left wrist. Holliday said it is not a complete tear, so he should expect about a 10-week recovery timeline after he has surgery. That should have him ready for the start of spring training in 2027.

Englert will start on Wednesday instead of Ian Seymour. It remains to be seen what the plan is for Seymour, but the Rays clinched the AL East and a bye in the postseason on Tuesday, so they probably just want to give Seymour some time off. Englert has a 4.25 ERA in 82 2/3 innings in Triple-A, but he is not a recommended streamer against the Yankees.

Basallo was hit with a foul tip on Monday, and it turns out that will end his 2026 season. The 22-year-old struggled in his first MLB season, playing through a shoulder injury and hitting .222/.291/.406 with 18 home runs, 54 RBI, and a nearly 27 percent strikeout rate. With Adley Rutschman no longer in town, Basallo will enter 2027 as the starting catcher, but his fantasy value will be impacted by how much of his struggles this season can be attributed to his multiple injuries.
