There should be some much-needed clarity on his status, including whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list, prior to Friday’s series opener against the Rangers.

The encouraging news for fantasy managers is that Caglianone, who remains out of the lineup for the fourth consecutive game, was able to resume hitting prior to Tuesday’s game in Kansas City. The 23-year-old emerging middle-of-the-order force remains shut down from throwing after being diagnosed with a mild flexor strain in his left elbow over the weekend. It’ll be John Rave getting another opportunity in right field on Wednesday evening. It sounds like there’s a chance he’s able to return to Kansas City’s lineup at DH during their upcoming three-game series against the Red Sox that gets underway on Friday.
