Bubba Chandler pitched three-hit ball for six innings in the Pirates’ 9-0 shutout of the Mets on Saturday.

Chandler struck out five and walked one in his second scoreless start of the season. He must have something against the New York teams, because he also shut out the Yankees for 6 1/3 innings in the Bronx last month. We’re not really sure if Chandler has turned the corner, but he does have a 2.36 ERA in his last five starts, mostly because he hasn’t allowed any homers. His 24/10 K/BB during the span still isn’t particularly impressive, and he was lifted shy of five innings in two of the outings. He’ll have a tougher assignment next week against the Red Sox.

Bubba Chandler was knocked around during Friday night’s loss to the Tigers, giving up six runs on four hits over 2 2/3 innings of work.

The 24-year-old right-hander also issued four free passes on the night while striking out two. The Tigers pushed two runs across on a two-run triple by Spencer Torkelson in the second inning, then added on four more while chasing Chandler in the third inning — the final two scampering home on a wild pitch that struck out Spencer Torkelson with the bases loaded. Chandler got eight whiffs on 77 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 26 percent. He finishes the season with a disappointing 8-10 record, 4.62 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 140/80 K/BB ratio across 154 innings of work.

Bubba Chandler allowed three runs in four innings and got a no-decision in the Pirates’ 6-5 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

Chandler gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but failed to even complete five innings against the Royals Saturday. Chandler has a 4.34 ERA overall, but a 3.63 ERA in 11 starts since the All-Star break. He’s lined up to face the Tigers on the road next weekend.

Bubba Chandler yielded three runs in 5 1/3 innings Sunday in a win over the Cubs.

Chandler allowed five hits, including a two-run homer, and walked four, but thanks to a couple of double plays, he was able to keep it together and improve to 5-1 since the beginning of August. He’s now 8-9 with a 4.28 ERA overall, and he’s a decent fantasy option in a home start against the Royals next weekend.

Bubba Chandler pitched six innings of two-run ball and struck out eight in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

The Pirates led 5-0 after one and 7-0 after two, and Chandler did an unusually nice job staying around the zone afterwards, walking none and allowing only four hits. It’s the first time in 28 starts this year that he’s gone without walking a batter. The win makes him 7-9 with a 4.25 ERA. He’s slated to face the Cubs on Sunday.

Bubba Chandler yielded three runs in five innings Wednesday versus the Giants.

Rafael Devers homered in the first. The other two runs came in the fifth in a rally that started with a double to right center that really ought to have been caught and then a Devers popup that dropped in shallow right for a single. So, that wasn’t much Chandler’s fault. Still, it was rather disturbing that Chandler got just one swing and miss all night. 88 pitches, 40 swings and one miss. He’ll take a 4.30 ERA into his next start against the White Sox.

Bubba Chandler fell to 6-9 on Wednesday against the Padres, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings pitched.

Chandler struck out three in the outing as Pittsburgh couldn’t pull off the sweep. Their rotation has been up-and-down throughout 2026, but by most metrics, Chandler has been their best starter in the second half. He combines one of the group’s lowest walk rates with a favorable ground-ball rate. Still just 23 years old, he’ll draw the Giants at home next time out.

Bubba Chandler gave up four runs in four innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Chandler gave up his four runs on a two-run homer by Max Muncy in the first, and a two-run single by Mookie Betts two frames later. There were no other scoring plays, but damage done in a mediocre — at best — outing for the 23-year-old. The right-hander had pitched exceptionally well in August prior to Friday with a 2.16 ERA, but the Dodgers didn’t have much trouble against him. A chance to get back on track comes next week in San Diego against the Padres.

Bubba Chandler allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out five, picking up the win on Friday against the Red Sox.

Chandler was solid in this one, allowing just one baserunner through his first three innings of work. He would make it through the first four innings without allowing a run, but gave up two runs in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI single by Andruw Monasterio and a sacrifice fly by Nick Sogard. Chandler has been allowed two earned runs or less in five of his last six starts and has tallied five or more strikeouts in all but one of those outings. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday at home against the Tigers.

Bubba Chandler was charged with three runs — two earned — over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a win over the Brewers.

Chandler dealt with some traffic on the basepaths, but managed to hold Milwaukee off the scoreboard until an RBI single by Joey Ortiz with two outs in the fifth inning. He gave up another RBI single with two outs in the ensuing frame that led to his exit from the contest. He departed after striking out five and handing out four free passes. The 23-year-old former top prospect holds a pedestrian 4.49 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 98/61 K/BB ratio across 110 1/3 innings this season. He’s in line for a favorable matchup against the Mets on Saturday to finish off a two-start week.

Bubba Chandler surrendered five runs — four earned — in four innings Tuesday in no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Once again tonight, Chandler was quite good at limiting hard contact, but this still makes three times in four starts that he’s failed to complete five innings. He allowed eight hits despite giving up just five hard-hit balls. Chandler has definitely made real gains since the early part of the season, but it’s still not resulting in much fantasy value at all. He hasn’t won since June 25, and he’s just 3-8 on the season. He’ll likely face the Reds on Sunday.

Musgrove apparently will see action out of the pen this week despite never pitching for the Padres this season in his struggles to return from Tommy John. He last worked in the minors on Aug. 27, after which he was shut down because his arm wasn’t bouncing back after outings.

They both needed to be added to the 40-man to participate, so gone are Elieser Hernández and Ricky Vanasco. Tellez spent nearly a month on the bench for the Braves in the first half of the season, going 2-for-10 with a homer. The veteran ended up hitting .267/.355/.466 with 16 homers in 102 games for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Giancarlo Stanton (calf) has made the Yankees’ Wild Card roster.

Stanton has not played in an MLB game since April 24th. He originally injured his right calf but then suffered a left calf injury during rehab. The 36-year-old has been taking live batting practice and could still give the Yankees a real boost, with the Red Sox set to start left-hander Payton Tolle in Game 1. However, if Stanton is at DH in Game 1, that means one of Luis Garcia and Ben Rice would play first base, and the other would likely sit. Given recent lineups, Garcia will almost assuredly be the one on the bench.
