Nathan Eovaldi allowed four hits and one run with two walks and two strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Friday.

Eovaldi’s start was solid per the box score, but he wasn’t particularly sharp and benefitted from some helpful batted ball luck. He didn’t command his cutter well as far too many sat in the heart of the plate against both right and left-handed batters. His fastball also had good and bad moments and the Orioles hit both of those pitches hard. His splitter was able to bail him out on a few occasions though and he did well to limit the damage to just one run. He left this start with a 4.21 ERA, 137 strikeouts, and 32 walks through 132 2/3 innings on the season. Next up, he’s scheduled to face the Angels.

Rangers placed RHP Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 9, with right posterior elbow inflammation.

Eovaldi was slated to take the ball against the Angels on Wednesday. The fact that he’s dealing with posterior elbow inflammation is a relatively encouraging sign, but fantasy managers are probably going to have to wait for additional evaluation and imaging before drawing any definitive conclusions. The 36-year-old has posted a serviceable 4.21 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 137/32 K/BB ratio across 132 2/3 innings this season. He’s been a borderline top-75 range fantasy starter on the year. There should be some additional clarity on his status in the coming days.

Having lost five games in a row, the Rangers are listening on MacKenzie Gore, Nathan Eovaldi and Jacob Latz, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi hears the same. Eovaldi has no-trade protection, which can be a big hurdle with deadline deals. If the Rangers sell, they’d be doing so while still possessing a 37 percent chance of reaching the playoffs, according to Fangraphs’ odds. They’re in a virtual tie with the Mariners, 2 1/2 games back of the Astros in the AL West.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reports that “the Rangers have spoken with teams about Nathan Eovaldi.”

Have the conversations just been about how nice he is as a person? In seriousness, we’re sure the Rangers have spoken to teams about Eovaldi because it makes sense to talk about any player another team is interested in; however, it would be surprising if Eovaldi were moved. The Rangers are currently just 2.5 games out of the lead in the AL West, and Eovaldi has a $24 million deal for next season and a no-trade clause. The Rangers are one of the older teams in the league, so trading Eovaldi would have to signal a full rebuild, or else we’re unclear how it would help them contend in 2027.

Nathan Eovali allowed 10 hits and six runs with one walk and five strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Eovaldi got shelled here, no two ways about it. The Astros rallied for three runs in the second inning on four hits and four-hard hit balls. He allowed 12 hard-hit balls in total and most weren’t cheapies either with seven of them being hit at least 104 mph. Eovaldi didn’t have the best feel for his splitter and without it, was playing catch-up most of the night. Also, he let two of those splitters sit in the heart of the plate in his fifth and final inning for Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker to launch back to back homers. Eovaldi now has an ugly 4.31 ERA across 127 1/3 innings this season and is scheduled to face the Giants at home next time out.

Nathan Eovaldi limited the Mariners to one run and three hits over seven innings in the Rangers’ 7-1 victory Saturday.

Eovaldi struck out eight and walked one in one of his best efforts of the year. The victory makes him 10-8 with a 4.05 ERA. He has a 130/29 K/BB in 122 1/3 innings, giving him the 12th-best K:BB among ERA title qualifiers. Next up for Eovaldi is a road start against the Rays, unless maybe the Rangers add a sixth starter next time through and push him back to face the Astros on Friday.

Eovaldi’s start was a bit in doubt because of an illness, and it’s certainly possible he wasn’t 100 percent in this contest. Regardless, it was an unimpressive outing; one that saw him allow three homers, with two of those coming off the bat of Austin Riley. It’s been a shaky season for the 36-year-old, and this lackluster start sees his ERA bump up to 4.21 while his record falls to 9-8. He’ll try and bounce back Saturday against the Mariners at home.

Eovaldi is “feeling significantly better” after dealing with illness Friday. The 36-year-old should be good to go for that series finale, but fantasy managers should be prepared just in case, if possible.

Nathan Eovaldi surrendered four runs — three earned — in six-plus innings and struck out 10 in a no-decision Thursday.

Eovaldi had a 6-1 lead after six, but the seventh started with a catcher interference, a walk and a single, at which point Eovaldi exited. Peyton Grey came in and allowed all three runners to score while getting two outs. Tyler Alexander entered then and allowed both of Grey’s runners to score, making it a 6-6 game. Eovaldi still ends the first half on a four-game winning streak. He’s 9-7 with a 4.04 ERA overall. The 10 strikeouts were a season high. He fanned nine in each of his three previous starts.

Nathan Eovaldi picked up his ninth victory of the season on Thursday, limiting the Tigers to three runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

Eovaldi racked up nine strikeouts on the night while allowing just one walk. He carried a no-hit bid into the fifth inning, then fell apart a bit as he allowed a solo homer to Colt Keith and a two-run blast to Hao-Yu Lee. The 36-year-old hurler generated 18 swings and misses on 85 pitches in the game, posting an elite CSW of 38 percent. Now 9-7, he’ll bring a 4.02 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 110/24 K/BB ratio (105 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Angels.

Nathan Eovaldi twirled seven shutout innings only allowing five hits and one walk with nine strikeouts to earn the win in a 5-4 victory against the Blue Jays on Friday.

It took Eovaldi five innings to even feel a moment of stress in this one. He faced just two batters over the minimum over that stretch and was still able to grit his teeth over the final two frames to turn in this seven inning gem. This is now consecutive starts where Eovaldi has struck out exactly nine batters and walked just one. Plus, this was his third straight quality start. He now has a 3.95 ERA, 101 strikeouts, and 23 walks through 100 1/3 innings so far this season. Next up, he’s scheduled to face the Guardians at home.

The 26-year-old infielder has seen his production slow a bit since the move to the Yankees, hitting .258/.303/.452 with one homer and two RBI over 33 plate appearances in his first eight games with the Bombers.
