Alec Burleson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI against the Phillies on Monday.
The Cardinals were kept off the scoreboard for the first five innings and trailed 3-0 before Burleson’s two-run single in the sixth inning gave them life. The Cardinals rallied again in the eighth inning with Burleson hitting an RBI double and coming around to score on a Masyn Winn double, though they ultimately come up short in the 6-5 loss. Burleson is hitting .284 with an .831 OPS and 81 RBI.
