Two hits and a sacrifice fly put a run on the board for the Dodgers in the first inning. Shohei Ohtani later took him deep for a two-run homer in the third. The Dodgers then started the fourth with three straight doubles to score two runs and added one more before the inning was over. After a scoreless fifth, Feltner allowed a leadoff triple in the sixth and would depart at 83 pitches. He struck out three. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 5.97 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 64/39 K/BB ratio across 92 innings into a start against the Nationals on Monday.

It took a few tightrope acts, but Feltner pitched well enough to win here with ample support from his offense. Still, he didn’t have a single clean inning and forced just six swings-and-misses. He’s only worth a desperation stream outside of Coors Field and is scheduled to face the Dodgers at home next time out.

Enjoying a start outside of Coors Field, Feltner was moderately effective here. He did a good job of not giving up too much dangerous contact – many of the balls in play against him were either lazy fly balls or hit on the ground – to limit damage despite not forcing many whiffs. He’ll take a 5.71 ERA into another start on the road next week against the Diamondbacks.

He struck out three, all on his changeup. Feltner had lost three starts in a row, giving up 17 earned runs over 11 2/3 innings in the process. This makes him 4-6 with a 5.75 ERA overall, and he’ll pitch in St. Louis next.

Ryan Feltner allowed five runs in five innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Saturday.

Feltner gave up nine hits, walked one and struck out four. He fell to 3-5 with the loss. Feltner held the Brewers to three runs in the first five innings, but was removed after allowing the first two batters to reach in the sixth inning. The bullpen allowed both inherited runners to score, which added two earned runs to Feltner’s line. He has a 5.73 ERA now. Feltner is lined up to face the Royals at Coors Field next weekend.

Ryan Feltner allowed eight runs in just 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Feltner gave up two homers, and both were three-run shots off the 29-year-old. It’s another lackluster outing for a pitcher that has provided plenty of them, but this was certainly as bad as Feltner has pitched over the last month plus. He’ll be completely off the fantasy radar for a scheduled start next weekend in Milwaukee against the Brewers.

Ryan Feltner yielded four runs and walked four in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Giants.

Getting pushed back a day to face the Giants, rather than the Dodgers, seemed like a good thing for Feltner, but it wound up not really mattering. He gave up solo homers in the first and fourth innings and then four hits and a walk before leaving in the fifth. Fortunately for Feltner, Victor Vodnik was able to strand the bases loaded after coming in with one out in the frame. Feltner will enter the second half 3-3 with a 4.55 ERA. That’s pretty good for a Coors pitcher, but his 47/24 K/BB in 63 1/3 innings isn’t impressive at all. He’s also given up 11 homers already.

The Rockies will start Gabriel Hughes on Wednesday and push Ryan Feltner back to Thursday.

Feltner probably won’t mind, since he’ll now be facing the Giants, rather than the Dodgers. It’ll be Hughes’ first major league start after he debuted with three scoreless innings for a save in 15-3 game last Friday.

Ryan Feltner allowed six hits and three runs – two earned – with nine strikeouts and zero walks across six innings to earn the win against the Giants on Friday.

The Rockies had amassed a seven-run lead by the third inning and Feltner cruised with that cushion. The trio of his fastball, slider, and changeup were especially lethal as each forced at least five swings-and-misses. That’s amazing, but this is a rarity for Feltner who rarely misses bats or even strikes hitters out. His 17 total whiffs were the third most in any start of his career and the most since April 2024. To further show how rarely Feltner stacks up strikeouts like this, his nine in this game are one quarter of his season total. Don’t get roped into this.

Ryan Feltner held the Twins to two runs — one earned — over six innings in a no-decision for the Rockies on Sunday.

Feltner didn’t issue a strikeout nor a walk. He also allowed only six hard-hit balls, so while he was far from dominant, the 29-year-old righty did have solid command of his arsenal in another solid outing, his fourth quality start in six tries since returning from the injured list. It’s still hard to trust Feltner given his previous success and lack of swing-and-miss in his arsenal, but he’ll try and keep it going against the Giants on Friday.

Ryan Feltner yielded two runs in six innings Monday against the Red Sox.

Feltner walked four, but the Red Sox did a poor job of making him pay. It’s the third time in five starts since coming off the IL that Feltner has completed six innings and turned in a quality start. He’s 2-2 with a 4.79 ERA in 10 starts overall, and he’ll likely make his next start Sunday against the Twins.

CJ Abrams (ankle) was held out of the Nationals’ starting lineup for a second consecutive game on Friday evening.

Nationals’ manager Blake Butera told reporters on Thursday night that X-rays on Abrams’ ankle came back negative for any fractures and that he’s just dealing with a minor left ankle sprain. They’re hopeful that he’ll be able to return to the lineup on Saturday. Nasim Nuñez will once again start in his place at shortstop on Friday night and will bat eighth against Marlins’ right-hander Ryan Gusto.
