Alonso made an early departure from Tuesday’s one-sided blowout against the Cardinals after going 4-for-4 with his 31st home run of the season. It didn’t seem like a big deal at the time with Baltimore leading by nearly two touchdowns, but it sounds like he could be dealing with a minor physical issue. It’s a situation that fantasy managers should monitor heading into the final two games of the club’s current series in St. Louis.

Pete Alonso left Sunday’s game against the Athletics after being hit in the head by a pitch.

Alonso was removed for pinch-runner Jackson Holliday, but it sounds like it was more precautionary than anything else. Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Alonso was “fine” in the dugout, so he should be back in the lineup ASAP.

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz pretty much dismissed the notion that Alonso, who went 4-for-4 with his 31st homer of the season, was removed from Tuesday’s blowout win due to a minor calf issue. However, the fact that he’s at DH the following day seems to give those concerns some validity. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern, but he dealt with a similar issue a couple weeks ago. It’s a variable that fantasy managers should continue monitoring for the remainder of the week.

Pete Alonso went 4-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBI in the Orioles’ 13-1 rout of the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Alonso collected four hits for the first time as an Oriole and the 10th time in his career. His homer, projected at 435 feet, was a three-run blast off Matthew Liberatore. It was his 31st of the season and 295th of his career. He’s now tied with another Orioles first baseman, Chris Davis (as well as José Ramírez) for 174th place on the all-time list.

Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Friday’s win over the Rays.

There was no replay needed for this one, as Alonso’s 451-foot homer in the fifth inning made its way to deep left-center to put the Orioles up 5-3 over the Rays. It was the 30th homer of the season for Alonso, who has now slugged 30-plus homers in six straight seasons. The Polar Bear has been on a tear for the O’s this month. He’s hit safely in 13-straight games and is slashing a blistering .380/.443/.704 with seven homers and 16 RBI.

Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo home run as the Orioles fell to the Yankees 5-3 on Wednesday night.

Alonso’s homer was an opposite-field shot off Will Warren that extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He arguably should’ve had a second in the seventh inning, but the umpires ruled it foul on a questionable call. It would’ve been a go-ahead homer in a game the Orioles went on to lose. The slugging first baseman has been red-hot lately as he entered Wednesday hitting .373 in August.

Pete Alonso went 2-for-5 with his 28th home run of the season in Monday’s loss to the Rays.

Alonso took former Orioles reliever Tyler Wells deep for a fifth-inning solo shot. The power-hitting 31-year-old has gone deep five times in his last eight games as he continues to inch closer to eclipsing the 30-homer mark for the sixth consecutive season.

Pete Alonso went 3-for-5 and drilled his 27th homer Saturday as the Orioles edged the Rays 4-3 in 10 innings.

Tyler O’Neill had the go-ahead hit in the 10th. Alonso followed that with a single and was checked on at first base, but he remained in the game and the Orioles said afterwards that it was just a calf cramp. Alonso’s homer was hit 392 feet off of Ian Seymour. He’s tied for ninth in the majors in homers and eighth with 78 RBI.

Pete Alonso hit a two-run homer while going 3-for-4 as the Orioles topped the Twins on Tuesday.

Alonso hit one of three homers the Orioles picked up off Bailey Ober on Tuesday. His was the 26th of the season, and it bumped his RBI total to 77. It wouldn’t be fair to qualify Alonso’s first campaign with the Orioles as an elite one, but he’s on pace to finish with over 35 homers and 105 runs driven in. You can do a lot worse.

Pete Alonso had a monster day at the plate in Sunday’s 10-5 win over the Rangers, reaching base five times while launching two homers and driving in four runs.

It was his best day as an Oriole to date. Alonso went 3-for-3 with two walks and scored three runs. He slammed a two-run homer off Kumar Rocker in the second inning and added a two-run shot off Jordan Montgomery in the fourth. It was his first multi-homer game as a member of Baltimore, which says a lot about the sort of year it’s been for him. Still, he’s now up to 25 homers on the year, putting him on pace for his sixth-straight 30-homer campaign.

Alonso’s two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning tied the game tied at 2-2. It was the 23rd homer of the season for Alonso, who enjoyed a strong July, slashing .261/.375/.466 with four homers, 10 RBI and six doubles. He has also hit safely in eight of his last 10 games and continues to be one of the top fantasy producers at his position.

O’Brien has given up 10 runs in his last five appearances, taking his ERA from 2.96 to 4.18. The Cardinals have no desire to replace him in the closer’s role, so he’ll probably be left there for now. However, another bad outing right away might not leave them with any choice but to make a move.

Perkins has a 6.50 ERA in 13 starts and 20 relief appearances for the season. It’s probably time for the A’s to commit to him as a short reliever, since he doesn’t seem like he’s going to be worth keeping around as a starter.
