Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer against the Rockies on Thursday.

Ruiz doubled off the top of the wall in the seventh inning, a ball that would have gone out of 22 of 30 MLB parks. He didn’t hustle out of the box and could have easily had a triple if he had; he redeemed himself in the ninth with a two-run shot that took the game out of a save situation. Ruiz has been getting hot again, hitting .373/.439/.529 over his last 15 games with two homers, and remains a viable second catcher or streamer in one-catcher leagues.

Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-4 with a homer and an RBI in Friday’s loss to the Marlins.

Ruiz broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning when he hit a solo shot off of Marlins reliever Tyler Zuber to put the Nationals up 1-0. It was the eighth homer of the season for Ruiz and his first since July 10th, but the switch-hitting catcher has been solid at the plate as of late. Ruiz is slashing .364/.429/.455 in the month of August.

Keibert Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in the Nationals’ 10-1 win over the Mariners on Sunday.

The performance lifted his OPS over .800 this season. Ruiz’s plate discipline remains poor, but he makes up for it with plus-plus contact skills. So far in 2026, he has combined more fly balls with a higher HR/FB percentage, but he has also severely overperformed his expected stats. Ruiz has done well to turn his career around under the new regime in Washington, but he’s still not a must-roster fantasy option. Expect him to continue splitting catching duties with Drew Millas.

Drew Millas was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Marlins with a left upper lip laceration.

Millas was struck by his own helmet after it fell off on a head-first slide into third base. He was left with a bloody lip and wound up leaving the contest. Keibert Ruiz took over behind the plate.

Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-4 and scored the Nationals’ lone run in Thursday’s loss to the Mets.

Ruiz singled off of David Peterson in the second inning, but he was cut down attempting to steal second base. He then led off the fifth inning with a single and ultimately scored his club’s first run on a ground out off the bat of Andres Chapparo. That would be their only tally in the ballgame. For the season, the 27-year-old backstop is slashing a solid .260/.277/.500 with four homers, 22 RBI and one stolen base in 100 plate appearances.

Keibert Ruiz went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI to lead the Nationals to a 13-3 win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Ruiz had a big day at the plate in Washington’s blowout win over the Orioles, leading the way with five RBI. He got the scoring started in the second inning with a three-run homer off Chris Bassit. He later added a double in the sixth, then drove in two runs on a single in the seventh. The 27-year-old backstop is up to four homers and 20 RBI while hitting .230/.244/.471 across 90 plate appearances.

Ruiz’s blast came way back in the second inning off Nick Lodolo. Washington’s offense has gotten off to a hot start in 2026, but the former top prospect hasn’t yet shown an increase in skills. Expect him to continue splitting reps behind the plate with Drew Millas.

Keibert Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and four RBI as the Nationals bested the Twins 7-5 on Thursday.

It was all about the catchers today, as Ryan Jeffers also homered and doubled twice for the Twins. The two had six of the nine extra-base hits in the game. Ruiz’s performance was certainly the bigger surprise, though. The homer was his second of this season and fourth since the beginning of last year. It’s the first time in his career that he’s had three extra-base hits. He scored three runs for the fifth time and drove in four for the fourth time. He had done either since 2024.

Keibert Ruiz went 0-for-4 with a GIDP and two strikeouts against the Twins on Tuesday.

Harry Ford is off to an awful start in Triple-A, so the Nationals probably aren’t ready for a catcher shakeup just yet. Still, Ruiz has been a disaster offensively, hitting .182/.203/.303 in 69 plate appearances. At least his defense is grading out a little better than usual, for what that’s worth.

Keibert Ruiz went 2-for-3 and smacked a run-scoring double on Sunday as the Nationals triumphed over the Giants.

Ruiz broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning as he roped an RBI double into left field off of Robbie Ray. He then rode home on Curtis Mead’s two-run blast. With his two-hit afternoon, the 27-year-old backstop is slashing .220/.250/.366 with one home run and nine RBI through his first 44 plate appearances on the season.

Ruiz gave the Nats a 6-2 lead with a two-run shot off Hoby Milner. He also drove in a run with a sac fly. The 27-year-old needs to hit in 2026 to hold off Harry Ford — although a Ruiz trade would make sense, either way — but fantasy managers should remain skeptical.

Edwards left Sunday’s game after colliding into Jorbit Vivas’ shoulder when he was sliding into second. He’ll now be out for at least the next 10 days, but the Marlins have not given an exact timeline for his return as of Monday afternoon. They remain just 3.5 games out of the playoffs, so we don’t believe Edwards is at risk of being shut down just yet.

Gasper has hit a solid .278/.374/.466 with five homers and 19 RBI in 156 plate appearances with the Red Sox. He’s starting at first base and batting second on Monday against the Mariners.

Red Sox placed 1B Willson Contreras on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

According to the Boston Globe’s Tim Healey, Contreras has been dealing with a hamstring issue for about a month. Between that and getting hit in the head against the Dodgers on August 1st, Contreras has slashed 217/.330/.386 since then. Perhaps a two-week reset will help the first baseman recapture some of his previous form before the end of the season.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the White Sox are acquiring outfielder Tommy Pham from the Phillies.

Since Pham is not on the 40-man roster, he is eligible to be traded despite the fact that the trade deadline has passed. Pham is expected to join the White Sox when rosters expand on Tuesday. He was 0-for-13 in his brief stint with the Mets earlier this season, and hit .245/.330/.370 in 120 plate appearances for the Pirates last year.
