Corey Seager went 1-for-4 and blasted his 14th home run of the season on Thursday night as the Rangers defeated the visiting Rays 6-0.
Seager did his damage off of Rays’ left-hander Shane McClanahan in the fifth inning, crushing a 2-2 changeup for a 403-foot (102.5-mph EV) two-out, two-run blast that increased the Rangers’ lead to 4-0. That would be his only hit on the night. It has been a rough season overall for the 32-year-old slugger, slashing a meager .223/.323/.412 with 14 homers and 37 RBI in 344 plate appearances.
