Baty appeared to tweak his left knee while coming out of the box on an RBI single in the second inning. He was replaced by Christopher Morel at first base. He’ll undergo further evaluation, and possibly an MRI, to determine the severity of the issue.

Davitt heads to San Francisco after being acquired from the White Sox in the Joey Bart trade last month. The 26-year-old righty made a pair of relief appearances for Chicago earlier this year.

Bivens loses his spot on San Francisco’s 40-man roster with the club claiming Duncan Davitt off waivers from Atlanta. He allowed 10 runs over five innings of work for the Giants earlier this season.

It was a monstrous performance by Merrill, who tripled home two runs in the bottom of the third. He then delivered a two-run homer in the fifth that put San Diego up 7-2, before smacking a solo shot in the seventh. To cap it off, he drove in Xander Bogaerts in the eighth. Merrill has been a different hitter in the second half, and his 14 homers since the All-Star break are the fifth-most in MLB. He’s up to 24 homers and 25 steals for the season, though he’s hitting just .245 with roughly a league-average wRC+. He doesn’t turn 24 until next April.

Buehler struck out four and walked two. He struck out the side in the first and looked to be in control, but began coming apart in the third, prompting manager Craig Stammen to pull him. Buehler had pitched five or more innings in each of his past five starts, and he wasn’t happy to exit this one. He draws a difficult matchup at Coors Field in his next start.

Kent was making the sixth start of his big-league career but has pitched more than five innings only once. He now has a 23:20 K/BB ratio through 27 1/3 innings, along with a 6.59 ERA. The 23-year-old southpaw is well off the fantasy streaming radar ahead of his next start against the Phillies.

Tatis drove in Samad Taylor with a fourth-inning single that put San Diego up 5-2. It was his second three-hit performance of the series against Washington. He has surely rebounded from a miserable start to his 2026 campaign. Tatis has already tied his career high of 32 stolen bases while adding eligibility at fantasy’s weakest position. Wednesday was Tatis’ 43rd start at second base this season. While he secured that eligibility for 2027 long ago, it’ll be fascinating to see if this sticks next year and beyond.

Nuñez went 0-for-1 with a walk, a steal, and a run scored before Brady House pinch-hit for him. His 46 thefts lead the majors this season. He’ll have a good chance to win the stolen-base title now that Jazz Chisholm Jr., who has 40, hit the IL on Wednesday. Nuñez is also one steal away from tying CJ Abrams’ club record of 47, set in 2023.

Anderson struck out five and walked one in the 81-pitch outing. It was the best start of his young career and the first time he finished six full innings in the majors. The 22-year-old lefty picked up 10 whiffs on the afternoon, and the only run he gave up was a solo homer by Jake Burger. He’ll look to build on this performance in a favorable matchup against the Angels next time out.

The save was his 26th of the season. Muñoz recorded K-BB% figures in the low 20s over the past three years, but he’s right below 30% in 2026. Despite that, his ERA is over 4 due to a career-worst HR/9 and an outlier left-on-base rate. For comparison, he has a 2.85 FIP and a 2.13 xFIP, suggesting positive regression is headed his way next year.
