Walker Buehler held the Yankees to just one run, but he didn’t factor into the decision for the Padres on Friday.
Buehler struck out six, walked two and allowed just three hits in a solid start for the right-hander. The only blemish in turns of run-prevention was a solo homer from Ben Rice in the third inning. After a less-than-spectacular first half of the year, Buehler has appeared to figure it out, and his 4.56 ERA isn’t indicative of how he’s pitched the last few months. He gets the Nationals at home next week.
