Anderson gave up four hits, walked three and struck out four. He fell to 4-6 with the loss. Anderson pitched well while allowing one run in the first five innings before the game turned when he allowed a two-run home run to Kody Clemens in the sixth inning. He now has a 2.97 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings over his last seven starts since the Tigers moved him into the rotation in early August. Anderson is lined up to face the Blue Jays on the road next Monday and could be in for a two-start week.

Drew Anderson allowed three runs in six innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Anderson gave up five hits, walked none and struck out five. He fell to 5-7 with the loss. Having likely made his last appearance of the season, Anderson will finish with a 3.67 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 114 strikeouts in 108 innings. Not bad for his return to the majors after playing two seasons each in Japan and Korea. Assuming Anderson has his $10 million 2027 team option picked up, he should compete for a backend spot in the Tigers’ rotation next year.

Drew Anderson tossed five scoreless innings and got the win in the Tigers’ 10-1 victory over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Anderson gave up two hits, walked three and struck out four. He improved to 5-6 with the win. Anderson has a 2.58 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 38 1/3 innings over eight starts since moving into the Tigers’ rotation in early August. He’s not currently schedule for another start and could move back to the bullpen with 11 games remaining in the season.

Drew Anderson allowed three hits and two runs – just one earned – with two walks and five strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Tuesday.

Anderson continues to be an effective albeit unspectacular starting pitcher. Leading with his changeup, he mostly cruised here and would’ve finished six innings for the first time in his big league career if not for an error by Kevin McGonigle that invited trouble in the sixth. Regardless, that changeup forced eight of his 12 total swings-and-misses as a true weapon against hitters from each side of the plate and finished this start with an incredible 67% chase rate. He’s scheduled to face the Twins again next time out.

Despite walking five, Drew Anderson shut out the Dodgers for 4 2/3 innings on Friday.

Anderson was one out away from qualifying for a win in a 1-0 game, but with the bases loaded and Max Muncy coming up, pulling him seemed like the right move. Drew Sommers struck out Muncy out to initially maintain the lead, but he went on to give up the tying run in the sixth. Anderson has a 2.82 ERA in five starts since moving into the Detroit rotation, though he’s totaled just 22 1/3 innings in those games. He’ll face the Twins next week.

Anderson gave up five hits, walked one and struck out four. He fell to 4-5 with the loss. Anderson started the sixth inning, but was pulled after allowing a lead-off double. Tanner Rainey retired the next two batters only to allow the runner to score with two outs on a wild pitch, which was the third run charged to Anderson. He has a 3.66 ERA and 13/6 SO/BB in four starts since the Tigers moved him into the rotation. Anderson is lined up to face the Dodgers at home next weekend.

Drew Anderson allowed three runs over five innings while not qualifying for a decision against the White Sox on Sunday.

Anderson limited the White Sox to just one run over the first four frames, but a two-run shot by Drew Romo turned a solid start into a middling one. Still, the 32-year-old kept Detroit in the game, and that’s about all you can ask, with all due respect to Anderson. If there’s no change to the rotation order, he’ll take a 4.01 ERA into his scheduled start in Kansas City over the weekend.

Anderson got 11 outs with just 42 pitches in his first start since joining the rotation last week against the Mariners. Tonight, it took him 70 pitches to get 12, ruining his chances of perhaps picking up a win. He should be in better shape to potentially complete five innings Sunday against the White Sox.

Anderson performed well despite going without a K. He had a 28.3 percent strikeout rate previously while working mostly as a reliever, but he fanned none of the 13 batters he faced tonight. Anderson will likely remain a starter for now and face the Guardians next week.

Anderson had success overseas in Korea the last two seasons and has looked sharp in a handful of opportunities for Detroit this year. He’s compiled a serviceable 4.24 ERA and 78/24 K/BB ratio across 63 2/3 innings, mostly in relief, for the Tigers this season. He’ll get an extended look in the club’s starting rotation for the final two months and could be a decent streaming option in deeper mixed leagues.

White Sox placed RHP Luis Castillo on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder impingement.

Castillo’s velocity issues suggest he’s been dealing with this for a spell, but it probably didn’t help decided to suddenly turn him into a reliever and use him on one day of a rest Tuesday. He still could potentially see some postseason time, but he ends the regular season 4-11 with a 5.85 ERA in 130 2/3 innings. He’s owed $22.75 million next year in the final season of a five-year contract.

Mauricio has gotten zero starts in four games against lefties since being recalled, but he did start the lone previous game against a righty, going 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI on Saturday. The Mets are finally facing another righty today, but they picked Nick Marabito to start over Mauricio, with Juan Soto DHing for a second straight day. Mauricio will be out of options next spring, but given how the Mets have handled him this year, he might not even be on the roster at that point.

Weird but ok. Alcantara, who picked up his second save last night, is still going to wind up leading the league in innings pitched in his first year back from Tommy John. He’s 13-11 with a 3.89 ERA and a 152/59 K/BB in 213 innings. The Marlins didn’t say who would start in his place, but Dax Fulton and Bradley Blalock could be available to go multiple innings.

Falvey was previously the Twins’ president of baseball operations, and the Twins reached the postseason four times under his leadership, earning a wild-card spot in 2017 and winning the division in 2019, 2020 and 2023. He will work closely with David Stearns, who he previously worked with in Cleveland in 2011-12. Additionally, Kris Gross, who was in charge of the Mets’ last three drafts (selecting Nolan McLean, Carson Benge, etc.), has been promoted to assistant general manager of scouting.
