Kade Anderson picked up his first major-league victory on Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing one run on six hits over six innings as the Mariners won 3-2.
Anderson struck out five and walked one in the 81-pitch outing. It was the best start of his young career and the first time he finished six full innings in the majors. The 22-year-old lefty picked up 10 whiffs on the afternoon, and the only run he gave up was a solo homer by Jake Burger. He’ll look to build on this performance in a favorable matchup against the Angels next time out.
