The Cubs put plenty of traffic on the basepaths against him in his four innings, but weren’t able to get a key hit to plate any of those runners. He got 11 swings and misses on 73 offerings on the day, registering a CSW of 30 percent. Phillips finishes the season with a solid 3.34 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 101/56 K/BB ratio over 126 2/3 innings of work in his 37 appearances (20 starts).

The 25-year-old isn’t expected to catch again this season, but he will be able to function as a bench bat for the Dodgers over the final weekend of the regular season and into the playoffs. Rushing has been shelved since September 5 due to discomfort in his throwing elbow.

The 24-year-old right-hander told reporters that his back is finally in a better spot after battling discomfort for the past month. He believes that he could be ready to return to the club’s bullpen for the NLDS.
