Ethan Pecko allowed four hits and three runs with two walks and two strikeouts across 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Wednesday.
It only took Pecko 26 pitches to get through the first two frames cleanly. Then, he completely fell apart in the third just after his lineup put up four runs in the top of that inning. A walk, single, wild pitch, and another walk set up a two-run single by Dominic Canzone and then, a run-scoring double by Julio Rodríguez chased Pecko. All in all, it was a disappointing outing by the rookie whose regular season may be over with a 4.31 ERA over 31 1/3 innings.
