José Soriano allowd five earned runs over three innings while striking out two, earning a no-decision in Friday’s win over the Reds.
Soriano retired the side in order in the first inning, but in the second inning he was taken deep by Eugenio Suárez, giving the Reds their first run of the day. It would be the only run Soriano would allow in the inning, but in the top of the third, the Reds would put four more runs on the board, jumping out to a 5-2 lead on the righty. Soriano would make it out of the inning but did not return in the fourth, bringing an end to his 2026 campaign. A hot start to the season quickly fizzled out for Soriano, who was acquired at the trade deadline by the Jays. He went 3-2 in 10 starts with the Jays while posting a 5.30 ERA.
