Rockies recalled RHP Darren Clarke from Double-A Tulsa.
Clarke, 26, will be making his major league debut after allowing one hit in 6 1/3 scoreless innings for Tulsa. The 6-foot-8 right-hander has had major problems staying healthy, but if he can overcome that, he could turn into a pretty good setup man.

Orioles re-signed RHP Albert Suárez to a minor league contract.
Suárez returns to Baltimore as organizational relief depth after passing through waivers unclaimed and electing free agency. The 36-year-old journeyman was cut loose over the weekend in a roster crunch after compiling a respectable 3.46 ERA across 13 innings over five relief appearances this season. He’ll head to Triple-A Norfolk until injury or ineffectiveness opens the door for another stint with the Orioles.
How does Crochet on IL impact Red Sox?
Eric Samulski recaps the news that Boston Red Sox' pitcher Garrett Crochet has been moved to the IL (shoulder) and what this means for Boston's pitching options.
  • TOR 1st Baseman #27
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in the Blue Jays’ 8-1 rout of the Red Sox on Wednesday.
The Jays only outhit the Red Sox 10-9, but they bunched theirs together, going 4-for-4 with RISP. Boston was 1-for-8 in those situations. Guerrero tops the majors with a .358 average, though Ildemaro Vargas is at .370 and is about to qualify for the list. He’s hit just two homers, but those should start to come. He has 12 barrels, putting him slightly ahead of his career rate in that category.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #56
Eric Lauer pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball against the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Lauer was supposed to lose his rotation spot to Trey Yesavage this week, but Max Scherzer’s IL stint gained him a reprieve, and he was successful while going through Boston’s lineup twice today, even though he allowed nine hard-hit balls and struck out just one in the process. Of course, he didn’t qualify for the win, even though he left with a 5-1 lead. That went to Brandon Fisher in relief. Lauer will likely start again next week against the Rays.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #66
Brayan Bello surrendered four runs in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
Well, the good news for Bello is that Garrett Crochet’s injury probably takes away the chance the Red Sox would pull him from the rotation after this. Really, though, Bello is deserving of a Triple-A stint. The defeat today leaves him 1-4 with a 9.12 ERA and a 17/15 K/BB in 25 2/3 innings. He’s due to face the Tigers next week.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #22
Ernie Clement hit his first homer Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Clement had 12 homers in 2024 and nine last season, but it took him 30 games to get one this year. Of course, that’s not an issue while he’s batting .301. The homer, though, turned out to be his lone hit in the series against Boston, as he finished 1-for-11 with two walks. He was working on a 10-game hitting streak going into the series.
  • TOR Catcher #59
Brandon Valenzuela finished 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk and three runs scored Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Valenzuela had been 5-for-34 with a 14/1 K/BB as a part-time replacement for Alejandro Kirk before his little breakout today. Although both catchers are switch-hitters, it seems like the Jays prefer Tyler Heineman against lefties, leaving Valenzuela starting about half of the time against righties for now.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #40
Willson Contreras went 2-for-4 and hit his seventh homer Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
One of his two outs today in Toronto was a fly to 370-foot left that would have been a homer in eight ballparks, including Fenway. Contreras is batting .262/.375/.486 and leading the Red Sox in homers, RBI (20) and runs scored (16).
  • ATL Shortstop #7
Ha-Seong Kim (finger) went 1-for-2 with a stolen base on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Columbus.
Kim played five innings at shortstop in his rehab debut and is going to need at least a week or two of game action to get back up to speed before he’s ready to make his season debut. The 30-year-old middle infielder has been on the shelf recovering from a torn tendon in his right middle finger that he suffered while falling on a patch of ice during the offseason.
  • TEX Right Fielder #24
Brandon Nimmo (hamstring) told reporters he anticipates being ready for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers.
Nimmo downplayed concern after making an early exit from Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against the Yankees with right hamstring tightness. It’s hardly a guarantee, but it certainly sounds like neither the Rangers or Nimmo anticipate him missing any additional time. Fantasy managers should check back in before first pitch on Friday evening.
  • KC 1st Baseman #9
Vinnie Pasquantino (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Royals.
Pasquantino will get some additional time to rest and recover following an early departure from Tuesday’s game in West Sacramento with lower back tightness. Royals president JJ Picollo said earlier Wednesday that he doesn’t anticipate Pasquantino requiring a trip to the injured list. Salvador Perez takes over at the cold corner with rookie Carter Jensen handling the catching duties. Fantasy managers should consider Pasquantino day-to-day heading into Thursday’s series finale.
