Orioles activated RHP Randor Bierd from the 15-day disabled list.
Bierd is back after missing 2 1/2 months with a right shoulder impingement. He’ll try to work his way into a setup role in front of George Sherrill.

Edwin Díaz will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow and is expected to miss approximately three months.
It’s a significant loss for the Dodgers, and fantasy managers, with Díaz likely sidelined until after the All-Star break in mid-July. The 32-year-old elite closer was diagnosed with loose bodies in his throwing elbow and hit the injured list earlier on Monday after experiencing diminished velocity during a relief outing against the Rockies over the weekend. It’ll be some combination of Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia and Blake Treinen tasked with handling the closing duties in his absence.
Pick up Keller off waiver wire with Duran out
Eric Samulski dives into how the Phillies will approach replacing closer Jhoan Duran while on the 15-day IL with an oblique strain, pointing out Brad Keller is most likely to take his place.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #21
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) faced hitters on Monday.
Rodriguez is making steady progress towards his Angels debut after hitting the shelf with shoulder inflammation at the conclusion of spring training. The oft-injured 26-year-old former top pitching prospect could offer some appeal in deeper mixed leagues, but omnipresent durability issues cloud his long-term future.
  • LAD Right Fielder #23
Kyle Tucker is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies.
Tucker, who went 3-for-5 with his third round-tripper of the season on Sunday, receives his first day off since April 5 with Colorado throwing veteran lefty Jose Quintana at Coors Field. Alex Call gets a chance to patrol right field in his place.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #54
Sonny Gray (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters afterwards that they don’t believe the issue to be serious, but they don’t want to take any chances. The 36-year-old veteran has a history of hamstring issues and will undergo precautionary imaging after being lifted from his Marathon Monday start against Detroit following 40 pitches over 2 2/3 innings. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status later this week. Top pitching prospect Payton Tolle would be the obvious choice to fill his rotation spot, which makes him worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats.
  • CHC Right Fielder #27
Seiya Suzuki is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Phillies.
It appears to be a routine day off for Suzuki with Michael Conforto getting a turn in right field. The 31-year-old corner outfielder is hitting .236 (8-for-34) with one extra-base hit and two RBI in nine games since coming off the injured list back on April 10.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #45
Zack Wheeler (shoulder) has rejoined the Phillies prior to Monday’s series opener against the Cubs.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters they’ll have an announcement regarding Wheeler’s status this week. The 35-year-old veteran’s velocity was down once again during his final rehab outing over the weekend as he was tagged for four runs over four innings. The former fantasy ace figures to return to Philadelphia’s rotation for his season debut later this week, but they want to see how he’s feeling before making that call.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher
Dodgers recalled LHP Jake Eder from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Eder has been summoned to join Los Angeles’ relief mix with closer Edwin Díaz hitting the injured list with loose bodies in his right elbow. The 27-year-old southpaw was acquired in a small trade with the Nationals earlier this month. He’s made nine relief appearances in the big leagues since 2024 and figures to operate in middle relief.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #3
Dodgers placed RHP Edwin Díaz on the 15-day injured list with right elbow loose bodies.
It felt inevitable that Díaz would be given some time to regroup away from the spotlight after allowing three runs without recording an out in a non-save situation against the Rockies on Sunday. The 32-year-old elite fantasy closer’s fastball velocity has been down recently and the results have been cringe-inducing to put it mildly. Tanner Scott and Alex Vesia are the logical choices to handle the ninth-inning role during his absence. There is no timetable for his return yet.
  • ATH Right Fielder #25
Brent Rooker (oblique) has begun a hitting progression.
Rooker remains without a definitive return timetable after hitting the injured list with a right oblique strain back on April 10. The 31-year-old upper-echelon fantasy slugger will need some time to ramp up activity without any setbacks before being cleared to embark on a minor league rehab assignment, which puts any sort of return estimate back into at least early May.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #20
The Athletic’s Dan Hayes reports that multiple sources described Mick Abel’s right elbow inflammation as not being too serious.
It’s an extremely encouraging report after Abel unexpectedly hit the injured list earlier on Monday. The 24-year-old appeared to be in the early stages of a breakout campaign, reeling off 13 scoreless frames with a 16/3 K/BB ratio across 13 innings over his past two starts. He’s likely to face a multi-week absence, even in a best-case scenario, but it doesn’t sound like preliminary imaging turned up any structural damage that could’ve led to surgery. It’ll be intriguing prospect Kendry Rojas, who came over in the Louis Varland trade with the Blue Jays last year, taking his spot in the Twins rotation for now.
