Royals signed OF Luis Durango to a minor league contract.
It’s not clear whether he’ll receive an invite to spring training. Durango batted .289/.352/.335 with no homers and 46 steals at Triple-A in the Braves’ organization this season.

Brewers signed RHP Reiss Knehr to a minor league contract.
Knehr made 18 relief appearances at the Triple-A level in the Padres system last year. The 29-year-old former starter bolsters Milwaukee’s depth at Triple-A Nashville. He last appeared in the majors back in 2023 before suffering an elbow injury.

James Schiano outlines just how impressive Mason Miller has been for the Padres.

Angels re-signed LHP Joey Lucchesi to a minor league contract.
Lucchesi spent a couple days on the open market before ultimately deciding to return to Los Angeles on a minor league deal. The 32-year-old lefty made three appearances for the Angels at the outset of the season shortly after being cut loose by the Giants. He’s merely emergency organizational relief depth at this stage of his career.
  • KC Catcher #22
Carter Jensen is at DH and batting fifth on Saturday against the White Sox.
Jensen has started six of Kansas City’s last eight games since oversleeping back in early April and is batting a sizzling-hot .316 (6-for-19) with three homers and five RBI during that span. The 22-year-old rookie backstop has seemingly settled in as the club’s primary DH option when he’s not behind the dish, which is a significant lift to his fantasy appeal.
  • SF 1st Baseman #8
Giants 1B prospect Bryce Eldridge recorded a career-high four hits on Friday for Triple-A Sacramento.
Eldridge finished 4-for-5 to raise his batting average to a stratospheric .360 mark through 13 games. The 21-year-old slugging first base prodigy has posted three consecutive multi-hit performances and is clearly benefitting from the Pacific Coast League’s extremely hitter friendly environments. The Giants are going to give him plenty of time to make adjustments and continue gaining confidence before giving him another extended look at the highest level. He’s one of the top prospects in the entire fantasy landscape and has a chance to be an upper-echelon contributor someday if everything clicks.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #7
Kazuma Okamoto is out of the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the White Sox.
Okamoto takes a seat after striking out four times during Friday’s contest against the White Sox. Ernie Clement takes over at the hot corner with Davis Schneider at the keystone. The 29-year-old third baseman is hitting .250 (11-for-50) with two homers and three RBI through 13 games in his first exposure to the majors.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Verlander (hip) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Saturday.
Verlander hit the injured list last weekend with left hip inflammation. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed that he’ll require at least one minor league rehab start before returning. There’s little incentive for Detroit to rush the 43-year-old future Hall of Famer back, but he figures to be ready at some point in late April or early May.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #25
Gleyber Torres is on the bench for Saturday’s game against the Marlins.
Wenceel Pérez moves up to the second spot in the order behind rookie sensation Kevin McGonigle and emerging middle-of-the-order bat Colt Keith. Torres has gotten off to a slow start at the dish, batting .216 (11-for-51) with one homer and four RBI through 14 games.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #46
The New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports the Mets are calling up veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel.
It’s challenging to forecast Kimbrel making a significant impact for New York since the long-time former closer is throwing in the low-90’s these days. The 37-year-old veteran has achieved journeyman status the past couple years, bouncing around between several organizations. He made 14 appearances between the Braves and Astros last year. His last big-league save, the 440th of his career, came with the Orioles back in 2024.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Alec Bohm is at third base and batting eighth on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Bohm has gotten off to a rough start and will drop even lower in Philadelphia’s lineup after hitting eighth on Friday night. The 29-year-old infielder is batting .170 (8-for-47) with one homer and eight RBI through 12 games.
  • AZ Catcher #14
Gabriel Moreno (back) is out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Phillies.
No surprise here with an early-afternoon contest on tap after Moreno was pulled from Friday’s game with lower back soreness. It’ll be Adrian Del Castillo handling the catching duties in his absence. The 26-year-old will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the issue. There should be a clearer idea of his status at some point this weekend.
