The left-handed hitting second baseman has also scored 18 runs. Lindsey doesn’t have a clear path to playing time behind Howie Kendrick on the organizational depth chart, but he could conceivably see time in the major leagues this season in the event of an injury. If not, he could also serve as intriguing trade bait later in the year should the Angels need to make a deal.

Gibson’s demotion comes as a bit of a surprise, as the 27-year-old southpaw posted a strong 3.38 ERA over 34 2/3 innings out of the team’s bullpen during the 2025 campaign. His demotion opens a spot in the team’s Opening Day bullpen for Andrew Nardi to make his triumphant return after missing the entire 2025 season.

The 29-year-old hurler was released earlier in the week as he asked to explore other opportunities, but he ultimately decided that returning to the Guardians made the most sense for him. He’ll begin the season as extra bullpen depth at Triple-A Columbus.

Kimbrel posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 5/5 K/BB ratio over six innings during six Grapefruit League appearances.

On the pitching side, Devenski had a shot at making the team’s Opening Day bullpen, but struggled to a 6.75 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 5 1/3 innings during Grapefruit League play. Williams had a solid spring offensively, hitting .258 (8-for-31) with a homer and seven RBI, but that wasn’t enough to secure a spot on the Pirates’ Opening Day bench.

The Blue Jays are taking every possible precaution while building up the 22-year-old hurler as he has battled a shoulder impingement this spring. He’s going to require a lengthy ramp up and the team has yet to give any sort of timeline on when he may be able to join the Jays’ rotation.

The 28-year-old took batting practice on the field once again on Sunday without issue and participated in fielding drills. He has made quick work in his recovery from a fractured ring finger and it’s starting to sound increasingly likely that he’ll be in the Astros’ lineup when the regular season begins.

He’ll follow Hunter Brown who draws the Opening Day assignment for the Astros. The rest of the rotation has yet to be announced, though Tatsuya Imai will certainly be in there somewhere. Burrows had a brilliant spring, allowing just three runs while posting a 17/6 K/BB ratio over 18 innings of work.
