Angels prospect 2B Taylor Lindsey was 1-for-3 with his third home run of the season Thursday for Triple-A Salt Lake.
Lindsey, 22, is batting .250 through Salt Lake’s first 20 games, but owns a .766 OPS thanks to seven extra-base hits and a 12/10 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The left-handed hitting second baseman has also scored 18 runs. Lindsey doesn’t have a clear path to playing time behind Howie Kendrick on the organizational depth chart, but he could conceivably see time in the major leagues this season in the event of an injury. If not, he could also serve as intriguing trade bait later in the year should the Angels need to make a deal.
