Murata was knocked around by the Orioles in his big league debut on Sunday. He’ll look to get back on track in the minor leagues with the hope that he’s called upon again the next time the Indians need an emergency starter.

Lambert had a 3.98 ERA in 124 1/3 innings with the Yakult Swallows in NPB last year, and had worked two impressive starts with the Space Cowboys to the tune of a 3.84 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings early in the season. He’ll get the start for the Astros tonight against the Cardinals. He’s not a recommended streamer at this time.

Roa had allowed runs in each of his last three appearances, though in fairness he was used as a long reliever and asked to go multiple innings in all of them. The Astros opted for Peter Lambert instead. Roa will try to get back on track with the Space Cowboys.

It clears a 40-man spot for Peter Lambert. Hader hasn’t pitched yet this year and, judging by this placement, would not appear to be particularly close to returning. We’re assuming he’ll get his closer role back when he returns, but he just threw to live hitters for the first time on Tuesday.

Your reward for getting a 10th-inning save last night? Rochester. Richard Lovelady will be active for the Nationals tonight and this is the corresponding move for getting him on to the roster.

Ben Williamson draws the start at shortstop. This has the look of a routine day off for the starter at shortstop. Walls is hitting .310/.375/.345 in nine games since returning from the injured list.

Tony Vitello did say that Susac and Patrick Bailey would start splitting time more evenly on Thursday. This is Susac’s second start against a right-handed starter this year. The Giants will see if they can catch some lighting in a bottle with Susac’s current .563/.588/.750 line in 17 plate appearances.

Durbin had been hitting second for the last five games, but the Red Sox elevated Willson Contreras to second to try to get the offense going. Durbin had gone 3-for-19 with two walks in those five games. He’s hitting just .127/.226/.164 on the season in 62 plate appearances. Eighth is the lowest placement for him in the lineup so far this year — he’d gone as far down as seventh, but mostly had hit sixth.

Cam Sanders is taking Urquidy’s spot in the bullpen. Urquidy had allowed runs in each of his last three appearances, including a four-spot against the Nationals on Monday, to put his ERA at 8.53 on the season. He’ll try to get back on track at Indianapolis.

Yates is trending towards a return as Jordan Romano has given up five earned runs in his last two outings. There’s no guarantee that Yates will see closer work, but he’s certainly got a cleaner recent track record than Romano despite 2025’s 5.23 ERA in 50 games out of the Dodgers pen. He may be worth stashing in deeper leagues for those looking for saves.

It’s unclear when Palencia suffered the injury as he hadn’t pitched since last Sunday. In the topsy turvy world of the Cubs bullpen, which somehow carries five left-handed relievers at the moment, our best guess is that Ben Brown would be in line for saves if the Cubs choose to use a traditional closer going forward. It’s possible this becomes a full-blown committee in Palencia’s absence. It’s great news that it’s not an arm injury — at least for the long-term — but the 15-day placement tells us this is serious for Palencia and something that could stretch well into May.
