Luke Heimlich’s contract with the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos in the Mexican League is still being reviewed.
Reports from Jeff Passan of ESPN on Wednesday stated that Heimlich had signed with the Mexican League team, but he hasn’t been registered with the team. “We have to analyze his case,” Javier Salinas, the president of the Mexican league said in an interview with the New York Times. “It’s very difficult to see him registered in the Mexican League.” This would not be the first time that Heimlich signed with an international team only to have his contract rescinded, as his deal with the Chinese Professional Baseball League was also cancelled back in August. He went undrafted out of Oregon State in both his junior and senior years after reports were released that Heimlich pleaded guilty to molesting a family member as a teenager.

Robert Refsnyder hit a solo homer to lead off the game in a win for the Mariners over the Rangers on Sunday.
Baldwin scorching to start the season for Atlanta
James Schiano discusses Drake Baldwin's hot start to the season and the metrics that show why he may challenge Cal Raleigh for the best hitting catcher.

Randy Arozarena hit a two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 5-2 win over the Rangers on Sunday.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #75
Andrés Muñoz struck out three over a scoreless inning to pick up a save versus the Rangers on Sunday.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #1
MacKenzie Gore gave up five runs in as many innings to take a loss to the Mariners on Sunday.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #22
Bryan Woo limited the Rangers to two runs over seven innings to pick up a win for the Mariners on Sunday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani doubled twice and drove in a run in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.
Ohtani’s double extended his on-base streak to 51 games. The 31-year-old has doubled four times in 2026, and he’s up to 11 RBI from the leadoff spot in 21 games.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #54
Nationals optioned LHP Andrew Alvarez to Triple-A Rochester.
Alvarez pitched well with 4 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, but the 26-year-old will return to Triple-A to give the Nats a fresh arm for the coming week. The corresponding move will be announced Monday.
  • COL 3rd Baseman #12
Kyle Karros hit a solo homer and scored twice in a win for the Rockies over the Dodgers on Sunday.
Karros absolutely clobbered a 438-foot blast off Roki Sasaki to make it a 3-2 game. The 23-year-old also singled and came around to score a run. The two-reach game with the homer puts his slash at .211/.352/.281, but he’s passed the eye test a few times in the young campaign.
  • LAD Left Fielder #67
Ryan Ward went 2-for-5 with an RBI in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.
Ward’s MLB debut saw him pick up his first two hits and his first run driven in. Unfortunately, it also saw him end the game as the tying run at the plate, but hard to call this anything but a success. The 28-year-old has raked in Triple-A, but the question is going to be just how much playing time he sees while he’s with the Dodgers.
  • COL Right Fielder #22
Mickey Moniak hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs in a win over the Dodgers on Sunday.
Moniak blistered a two-run shot off Blake Treinen — who allowed three runs without getting an out — that gave the Rockies a 5-4 lead and ultimately a win. It’s already the sixth homer of the season for Moniak, and he’s now slugging .655 over the first three weeks of the campaign. Keep in mind that he’s a 27-year-old that was the first-overall pick in 2017. Keep in mind that he hasn’t come close to living up to that hype since reaching the majors, but weirder things have happened.
