Orioles selected the contract of C Anthony Bemboom from Triple-A Norfolk.
Bemboom got into three games earlier this season for the Orioles before being designated for assignment. The 33-year-old backstop will take over as Baltimore’s backup catcher while James McCann is on the injured list.

  • CIN Shortstop #2

Edwin Arroyo is at shortstop and leading off on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Arroyo moves up to the leadoff spot with Noelvi Marte taking over in center field with Blake Dunn receiving an off day in this one. The 22-year-old top prospect has hit just .227 (5-for-22) with one RBI in 10 games since being called up from Triple-A Louisville earlier this month. His opportunity to carve out a permanent spot on Cincinnati’s roster, likely as their primary second base option, is fading quickly with Elly De La Cruz (hamstring) progressing towards a minor league rehab assignment.
'Fire up' Skubal after quick recovery from injury
Returning from a remarkably quick recovery timeline, Tarik Skubal takes the mound once again this weekend. James Schiano shares what fantasy managers should expect from one of the game's true aces.
  • STL Shortstop #26
JJ Wetherholt is out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Twins.
Wetherholt takes a seat following five consecutive starts after missing time last weekend with groin soreness. The 23-year-old rookie standout hit .286 (6-for-21) with four runs scored and three RBI during that five-game span. It’ll be José Fermín drawing a start at the keystone in his place.
  • BOS Catcher #30
Mickey Gasper is hitting leadoff for the second consecutive game on Saturday against the Rangers.
Gasper finds himself at DH and atop Boston’s lineup after going 1-for-5 with a run scored during the club’s 10-run outburst during Friday’s series opener at Fenway Park. The unheralded 30-year-old backstop has hit .272/.326/.346 with zero homers and five RBI in 90 plate appearances since coming up from Triple-A Worcester in mid-May. He can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues. His presence atop the lineup is a more significant hit to Jarren Duran’s immediate fantasy appeal than anything else. It also seems to render Masataka Yoshida completely irrelevant as a bench bat.
  • PIT Catcher #32
Pirates activated C Henry Davis from the paternity list.
Davis returns to Pittsburgh’s catching mix after a three-game stint away from the club on paternity leave. The 26-year-old former first-overall pick has hit an underwhelming .138/.241/.285 with five homers, 17 RBI and one steal across 142 plate appearances over 45 games this season.
  • PIT Catcher #43
Pirates optioned C/1B Rafael Flores Jr. to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Flores went 2-for-3 with his first career home run during a brief stint with the Pirates while starting backstop Henry Davis was away from the club on paternity leave.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72
Pirates recalled RHP Isaac Mattson from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Mattson returns to Pittsburgh’s relief mix after spending nearly a month in the minors. The 30-year-old posted a serviceable 4.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 15/10 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings for the Pirates earlier this season. He’ll operate in middle relief situations.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #89
Pirates optioned RHP Antwone Kelly to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Kelly heads back to the minors after allowing two runs over 2 1/3 innings on Friday in his big-league debut against the Marlins. The 22-year-old prospect figures to receive a more extensive look at some point later this summer.
  • TOR Catcher #30
Alejandro Kirk is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Yankees.
No surprise with Kirk sitting out Saturday’s afternoon affair following Friday night’s series opener. The 27-year-old backstop went 3-for-3 with two RBI and reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances in his return from the injured list on Friday. He missed the previous 10 weeks recovering from thumb surgery. It’ll be rookie Brandon Valenzuela handling the catching duties in this one.
  • TOR 1st Baseman #27
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is out of the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Yankees with lower back tightness.
Guerrero’s stunning power outage has lingered until almost midseason as he’s recorded just three round-trippers through 68 games this season after eclipsing 30 homers in three of the last five years. The 27-year-old franchise cornerstone receives some time off to address a lower back issue after hitting .184 (7-for-38) with three RBI across 10 games since the start of June. He went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI during Friday’s series opener. It’ll be rookie Charles McAdoo filling in at the cold corner to face Yankees rising ace Cam Schlittler on Saturday afternoon.
  • NYY Left Fielder #24
Yankees activated OF Jasson Domínguez from the 10-day injured list.
Domínguez returns to New York ahead of Saturday’s showdown against the Blue Jays after missing just over five weeks recovering from an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder back in early May. The 23-year-old former top prospect offers an intriguing blend of fantasy-relevant skills but hasn’t produced consistently enough to provide sustained mixed-league value. He’ll factor into New York’s corner outfield rotation, along with rookie Spencer Jones and versatile José Caballero, while both Aaron Judge (ribs) and Trent Grisham (hamstring) are on the shelf.
