  • COL Relief Pitcher
Rockies selected the contract of LHP Evan Justice from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Justice, 25, has pitched between three different levels in the minors this season while posting a 3.49 ERA and 63/26 K/BB ratio over 38 2/3 relief innings. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
  • TOR Center Fielder #25
Daulton Varsho went 2-for-4 with a grand slam against the Guardians on Sunday.
The home run was Varsho’s 11th of the season. He could’ve had an even bigger game as he came up with the bases loaded again in the eighth inning, but he struck out. While he’s only hitting .220, he’s produced in the power categories with 11 home runs and 35 RBI. His .238 ISO is even higher than his .207 iSO in 2022 when he hit 27 home runs with the Diamondbacks.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #39
Ben Lively allowed four runs in four innings and got the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Lively gave up six hits, walked three and struck out four. He had won his last five starts. Lively had allowed two runs through the first four innings. He was removed after walking Spencer Horwitz and Davis Schneider to begin the fifth inning. Both runners scored on Daulton Varsho’s grand slam off Nick Sandlin. Lively isn’t as good as his 3.02 ERA suggests given his 4.15 xFIP. He’s benefited greatly from an 85 percent left on base percentage and that caught it up with him a little bit on Sunday. He’s still been a really good find off the waiver wire for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
Jose Berrios allowed four runs in six innings and got the win in the Blue Jays’ 7-4 victory over the Guardians on Sunday.
Berrios gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out one. The win was his sixth of the season. Berrios won four out of seven starts in April, but has now won only two of his last eight starts. His ERA is 3.13 on the year, but his xFIP is 4.18. Berrios’ saving grace this year has been his 86 percent left on base percentage. Even on a day where he only left 65 percent of runners on base, he still was a little lucky. In the fifth inning, the Guardians loaded the bases with no outs, but Cleveland only scored two runs on an RBI single by Steven Kwan and a double play by Tyler Freeman. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Guardians on the road next week.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #29
Pete Fairbanks struck out two and walked one en route to his 10th save of the season on Sunday.
Fairbanks has been solid since returning from the IL last month with six saves in as many chances. It’s worth keeping an eye on his walk rate though as it’s inched up over 12%, the highest mark of his career.
  • ATL Third Baseman #27
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a game-tying two-run home run and two runs scored on Sunday against the Rays.
Congratulations to all the fantasy managers who kept their patience with Riley because the hot streak is officially here. He homered in every game this weekend and has raised his OPS from .618 to .695 since Friday.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #30
Hurtson Waldrep struggled on Sunday and allowed six earned runs in just 3 2/3 against the Rays. He walked four while striking out just two in a no-decision.
While bailed out by his offense, this is now back-to-back poor starts from Waldrep to start his major league career. He has not completed four innings yet and gave up a combined 13 earned runs against the Nationals and Rays. There was fear his fastball would lag far behind his impressive splitter and the heater has generated just one whiff total in his two starts. The Braves have a need in the back of their rotation but Waldrep may not be equipped to fill it just yet.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #24
Zach Eflin allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Braves. He allowed seven hits while walking one and striking out seven.
Eflin continues to flash the brilliance he showed last season while faltering in key moments. He cruised through five innings after a lead-off home run by Jarred Kelenic but unraveled with two outs in the sixth. It’s frustrating to see him fall one out shy of the quality start while the bullpen blew his win despite objectively pitching well against Atlanta. His ERA sits at 4.12 on the season.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #39
Miles Mikolas allowed one earned run across 6 ⅔ on Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Cubs. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.
Mikolas cruised against the scuffling Cubs on Sunday. The only run on his ledger was an inherited runner that came around after he was yanked and had a fantastic start overall. His command was fantastic as he mixed his four-seamer and sinker evenly keeping the ball off the Cubs’ hitters’ barrels.
  • WAS Relief Pitcher #67
Kyle Finnegan threw a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Sunday.
The save was Finnegan’s 20th of the season. He’s only blown two save opportunities so far this season and lowered his ERA to 1.78. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in fantasy this year.
  • MIA Second Baseman #2
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Nationals on Sunday.
It was a quiet day for the Marlins offense as they could only muster one run against Washington. Chisholm’s single in the fifth inning temporarily tied the game at one. He’s hitting .260 with a .762 OPS and 34 RBI this year.
