Giants signed RHP Cody Stashak to a minor league contract.
Stashak allowed two runs in one inning in his first appearance in Triple-A on Friday. The 29-year-old made 11 relief appearances for the Twins last year and had a brief stint with the independent Lancaster Barnstormers this season before latching on with the Giants. He’ll provide some bullpen depth for now.

Max Fried (elbow) will throw off a mound on Saturday for the first time since landing on the injured list.
Yankees’ skipper Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Fried had recent imaging done that showed increased healing in his balky pitching elbow. It’s still going to be a slow progression for the 32-year-old southpaw as he ramps back up, but the fact that he’s getting on the mound again is obviously an encouraging sign.
'Fire up' Skubal after quick recovery from injury
Returning from a remarkably quick recovery timeline, Tarik Skubal takes the mound once again this weekend. James Schiano shares what fantasy managers should expect from one of the game's true aces.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #48
Brewers recalled RHP Craig Yoho from Triple-A Nashville.
Yoho was just optioned out on Monday, but he’ll rejoin the Brewers’ bullpen with Coleman Crow (forearm) landing on the 15-day injured list. Yoho has dominated at the minor league level this season and has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio over three innings of work with the Brewers this season.

Brewers placed RHP Coleman Crow on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 10, with a right forearm flexor strain.
That certainly doesn’t sound good, as forearm flexor strains are often precursors to elbow issues. No word yet on the severity of the issue or how long the Brewers expect the 25-year-old hurler to be sidelined for. Craig Yoho was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move on Friday.
  • SF Shortstop #2
Willy Adames (lower body) returned to the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday evening’s showdown against the Cubs.
Adames was held out of Wednesday’s contest due to discomfort in his lower half. It sounds like he’s much improved after a couple of days off though. The 30-year-old shortstop will bat sixth against Cubs’ right-hander Javier Assad on Friday evening in San Francisco.
  • COL Center Fielder #31
Jake McCarthy (illness) was held out of the Rockies’ starting lineup for the third consecutive game on Friday.
McCarthy was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to illness and still isn’t well enough to return to action. Sterlin Thompson will once again start in his place in left field and will bat eighth for the Rockies on Friday evening against Gage Jump and the Athletics.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #34
Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Friday that Kodai Senga (back, arm) will make an additional minor league rehab start before rejoining the Mets.
Senga looked sharp in his latest outing on Thursday, allowing just one run on one hit over six innings at Double-A Binghampton. He got up to 75 pitches in that one, so expect him to be around 90 offerings his next time out.
  • BAL 3rd Baseman #32
Weston Wilson has elected free agency.
Wilson was designated for assignment on Saturday and passed through waivers unclaimed. He then refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk. The versatile 31-year-old is now free to explore options on the open market.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #56
Marlins signed RHP Zach Pop to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old right-hander elected free agency on Saturday after refusing an outright assignment from the Phillies. He’ll add quality bullpen depth for the Marlins.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #34
Royals recalled RHP Eli Morgan from Triple-A Omaha.
The 30-year-old right-hander will rejoin the Royals’ bullpen for at least a few days with Seth Lugo (concussion) landing on the injured list. Morgan has made 13 appearances for the Royals this season, registering a 5.51 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and a 15/8 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #67
Royals placed RHP Seth Lugo on the 7-day concussion injured list.
Lugo is still feeling the effects of getting drilled in the head by a comebacker off the bat of Brandon Nimmo during his last start. While the Royals were hopeful that he would be able to take his next turn through the rotation, he’ll need to pass through the concussion protocol first before he’s cleared to return.
