    Pirates non-tendered RHP Hunter Stratton.
The Pirates didn’t think Stratton was worth a spot on the 40-man, but they likely will re-sign him to a minor league deal. The 27-year-old (happy birthday!) had a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings last season.

Samuel Basallo went 3-for-3 with a pair of homers and three RBI on Thursday night, powering the Orioles to a 5-2 victory over the Pirates in their Grapefruit League tilt.
Basallo got the scoring started in the home half of the first inning, winning a seven-pitch battle against Cam Sanders by crushing a 342-foot (106.3 mph EV) solo shot. He then victimized Mike Clevinger for a 358-foot (110.6 mph EV) two-run blast in the third inning that made it a 5-0 ballgame. With his three-hit attack, the 21-year-old backstop is now hitting .375 (12-for-32) with three homers and 10 RBI in what has been a very impressive Grapefruit League campaign. As long as he’s in the Orioles’ lineup on a regular basis, he’s going to be an impact contributor for fantasy purposes.
Who broke Dan Patrick's Sammy Sosa statue?
The I-Team is on the case to trace the culprit after Dan Patrick's Sammy Sosa statue was found in pieces at the Mancave.

Trevor Rogers pitched well in his final Grapefruit League start on Thursday, racking up seven strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings of two-run baseball in a win over the Pirates.
Rogers allowed seven hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. The 28-year-old southpaw navigated the first four innings without any issue, but the Pirates strung together two singles, a ground out and another single to push a pair of runs across in the fifth inning. Rogers got 11 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night — six of those on his slider — while posting a CSW of 30 percent. He finishes the spring with a stellar 2.51 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a 16/1 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings. His next assignment will come on Opening Day against the Twins.

Ryan Helsley worked a perfect inning during Thursday’s Grapefruit League affair against the Pirates.
The 31-year-old hurler made it look easy in this one, getting Billy Cook on a swinging third strike, Jake Mangum on a ground ball to first and Pirates’ top prospect Konnor Griffin on a swinging third strike to end the inning. He has now fired five scoreless innings on the spring with a 0.80 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio. He looks like one of the more solid and stable options at closer after the top seven options come off the board.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #52
Mike Clevinger struggled during Thursday’s Grapefruit League outing against the Orioles, giving up two runs on one hit in his two innings of work.
On the plus side, the 35-year-old hurler recorded four of his six outs via the strikeout, while issuing one walk. All of the damage done against him came on the lone hit that Clevinger allowed — a two-run blast by Samuel Basallo in the third inning. He got 10 swings and misses on just 34 pitches in the ballgame, five of them on his cutter, while posting a strong CSW of 38 percent. If he finds a way to latch onto the Pirates’ Opening Day roster, it’s expected to be as a long man in the bullpen. Either way though, don’t expect him to hold any sort of fantasy value.
  • NYM Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI on Thursday, leading the Mets to a 6-2 victory over the Astros in their Grapefruit League affair.
The dynamic 28-year-old outfielder led off the second inning with a double off of Peter Lambert, but the Mets were unable to cash him in. He then smacked a two-run double in the fifth inning that extended his team’s advantage to 5-0. He has impressed in his limited action with the Mets so far, hitting .333 (5-for-15) with two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #34
Kodai Senga delivered another strong performance in his final Grapefruit League tuneup on Thursday, striking out four batters over four innings of shutout baseball.
The 33-year-old right-hander scattered three hits on the night while issuing one base on balls. At no point during the start did the Astros put multiple men on base against him. Senga got five swings and misses on 63 pitches in the contest — two on his forkball — while registering a CSW of 29 percent. His fastball velocity averaged 95.0 mph and touched as high as 97.3 mph. He finishes an impressive spring with a 1.86 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and an 11/1 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings of work.
  • HOU Left Fielder #44
Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and an RBI on Thursday as the Astros fell to the Mets in Grapefruit League competition.
Alvarez finally got the Astros on the board in the fifth inning of this one, smacking an RBI single that pulled them to within five runs at 6-1. He has looked good at the plate this spring, hitting .296 (8-for27) with a homer, five RBI and a 7/1 K/BB ratio. Most importantly, he appears to be fully healthy heading into the 2026 season.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #20
Peter Lambert struggled in a losing effort against the Mets on Thursday evening, allowing three runs on three hits across 3 1/3 innings of work.
The 28-year-old hurler walked one batter on the night while striking out one. He had allowed just one run through his first three innings — a sacrifice fly by Marcus Semien in the second — but Lambert returned to start the fourth inning and ultimately gave up another pair. Lambert got six whiffs on 54 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He has had a decent spring overall, posting a 2.92 ERA and an 8/5 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings, though his 1.70 WHIP leaves a lot to be desired. He’ll find out soon if it’s enough to crack the Astros’ Opening Day roster.
  • NYM Catcher #4
Francisco Alvarez was pulled from Thursday evening’s Grapefruit League contest due to tightness in his back.
Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters after the game that Alvarez was lifted for precautionary reasons and that if had been the regular season he would have continued playing. While it doesn’t sound like anything to worry about, he will be re-evaluated on Friday. It’s at least something that fantasy managers should keep an eye on.

Giants optioned INFs Bryce Eldridge and Tyler Fitzgerald and OF Grant McCray to Triple-A Sacramento.
Giants’ skipper Tony Vitello had hinted last week that Eldridge could open the season at Triple-A so that he could continue playing every day rather than functioning in a platoon role with the Giants, so this doesn’t come as a major surprise. He’ll definitely get a chance with the Giants at some point during the 2026 campaign.
