Both Underwood and VanMeter were in Yankees camp this spring as non-roster invitees. Underwood latched on with New York back in December as one of the top minor league free agents on the open market with 144 big-league appearances on his resume since 2018.

There haven’t been any indications that Albies is dealing with any sort of injury, so it looks to be just a breather for the 29-year-old infielder. Mauricio Dubon will cover second base in his absence and will bat fifth against Marlins’ righty Janson Junk.

It looks to be nothing more than a routine day off for the versatile 27-year-old. Josh Rojas will man the hot corner in his absence and will bat eighth against Twins’ right-hander Bailey Ober.

Once again we see Antonacci sitting with a left-hander on the hill as he appears to be locked into a strong-side platoon role at the moment with the White Sox. Luisangel Acuna will start in his place in left field and will bat ninth against Red Sox’ southpaw Ranger Suarez on Thursday evening at Fenway Park.

The 24-year-old was overwhelmed when he got the call to the bigs in April and walked 10 in 4 2/3 innings. He’s carried a 3.96 ERA for Triple-A Salt Lake City with 88 strikeouts in 91 innings over the last few months. While we don’t necessarily think Klassen is a must-roster, he’ll be worth monitoring.

Neto, mentioned as a potential trade-deadline prize, wound up not moving and was dropped down to the cleanup spot today. That part is not great news for his fantasy value, but it’s not like you’re dropping Neto. Hopefully this can spark him a bit as over his last 15 games this is his only homer and he’s hitting just .197/.258/.295 over that timespan.

It provided the only run for the Orioles in the game, somehow, despite them drawing eight walks against the Angels’ pitching staff. It was Pozo’s first homer of the season and the 29-year-old will pair with Carlos Narváez until Samuel Basallo is ready to return from the injured list.

The left-hander has been lights out this year, with 38 strikeouts and an 0.88 WHIP in 25 innings pitched over 21 appearances. Ben Joyce pitched yesterday and the Angels would probably rather have Natera available for heavy left-handed parts of the order, but Natera is pitching so well that he might be the man to roster if Joyce can’t establish himself as the closer after a long layoff. Even right-handers are hitting just .152/.220/.304 against Natera.

All five walks happened in the first three innings, but the only extra-base hit the Orioles were able to muster against the Angels was Yohel Pozo’s solo homer. None of the underlying numbers look particularly good for Johnson -- 17 percent whiff rate, five hard-hit balls -- and he and his 7.11 ERA would be a tough player to trust against the Rangers next week.

Young has a 3.21 ERA over his last 15 starts, but this makes back-to-back duds against the Phillies and Angels. It was a bit unfortunate for him that the sequence worked out to give Neto a three-run homer, but he’s more of a living-on-the-edge 12-team starter than a true must-roster player. A matchup against the Twins next week remains tasty despite the recent downturn.

Stewart wallopped one of four solo bombs against the Athletics on the day, taking Mason Barnett 416 feet to left-center for his 25th homer of the season. Stewart is starting to heat up again, hitting .302/.371/.585 with five homers and a stolen base over his last 15 games after a mid-season swoon. He was a major steal in drafts this past offseason and figures to be in the top-five round discussion in 2027.
