Astros RHP Miguel Díaz has elected free agency.
Díaz will search for a new opportunity elsewhere after going unclaimed on waivers after being removed from Houston’s 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty made just one relief appearance for Houston prior to being designated for assignment.

Yandy Díaz went 5-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Rays to a 11-7 victory over the Cardinals in St. Louis.
Díaz led off the game with a single but never advanced past first base. He then delivered an RBI single in the second inning that increased the Rays’ lead to 3-0. He added an RBI double in the fourth inning and then scored on an RBI double by Jonathan Aranda. Díaz smacked another RBI single in the eighth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Cedric Mullins. He then capped off the five-hit day with an RBI knock in the ninth inning that made it 11-7. He has been absolutely sizzling at the plate to open the 2026 season, hitting .563 (9-for-16) with three runs scored and four RBI.
Can Marlins progress towards competing in 2026?
The Dan Le Batard show debates how the Miami Marlins can get fans back into the good graces of the Miami fanbase and why 2026 might be the beginning of resurrecting that enthusiasm.

Jonathan Aranda went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI on Sunday as the Rays defeated the Cardinals to salvage the finale of their three-game series.
Aranda smacked an RBI double off of Dustin May in the fourth inning that extended the Rays’ lead to 5-1. He also chipped in a run-scoring single in the seventh inning that made it 8-4. With the three-hit attack, the 27-year-old is now hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a homer and four RBI through his first three ballgames.

Jonny DeLuca went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI as the Rays triumphed over the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.
DeLuca opened the scoring in the contest with an RBI double off of Dustin May in the top half of the second inning. He then came around to score on a wild pitch. The 27-year-old outfielder then reached on a bunt single in the third inning before getting picked off at first base. He also reached on a fielder’s choice in the ninth and scored on a sacrifice bunt. He’s off to a nice start to his 2026 season, hitting .444 (4-for-9) with a pair of runs scored and three RBI.

Steven Matz wasn’t at his best on Sunday afternoon but still managed to defeat the Cardinals despite allowing four runs on six hits across his five frames.
The 34-year-old southpaw struck out two batters on the day while issuing one base on balls. Former teammate Jordan Walker did most of the damage against him, smacking a double and scoring in the third inning and then crushing a three-run homer in the fourth. Matz got 10 swings and misses on 81 pitches on the afternoon — four of those on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll do battle against the Twins in Minneapolis his next time out on Saturday.
  • STL Right Fielder #18
Jordan Walker went 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run homer on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Cardinals past the Rays.
Walker tagged former teammate Steven Matz for a 415-foot (105.8 mph EV) three-run blast in the fourth inning that pulled the Cardinals to within a pair at 6-4. That would be as close as they would get. Walker also scalded a double (114.9 mph EV) off of Matz in the third inning and scored the Cardinals’ first run on a throwing error. He’s off to a solid start to the 2026 campaign, hitting .400 (4-for-10) with a homer and three RBI.

Dustin May was clobbered in his 2026 season debut on Sunday afternoon, surrendering six runs on 10 hits over four innings in a loss to the Rays.
May walked one batter on the afternoon while striking out three. The Rays scratched out three runs against him in the second inning, then added three more with three RBI doubles in the fourth inning. The 28-year-old hurler got just four swings and misses on 61 pitches on the day, posting a miserable CSW of 23 percent. He’ll try to put this one behind him and get back on track when he takes on the Tigers in Detroit on Saturday.
  • COL Left Fielder #27
Jordan Beck drove in three runs in a loss Sunday to the Marlins.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #38
Victor Vodnik allowed two runs in an inning of work while blowing a save against the Marlins on Sunday.
  • MIA Right Fielder #17
Owen Caissie hit a walk-off two-run homer to give the Marlins a 4-3 win over the Rockies on Sunday.
With the win, the Marlins swept the Rockies. Probably not the last time we type the last three words of that sentence. Caissie clobbered the walk-off bomb at 107.9 mph for his first first homer as a member of the Marlins, and it seems unlikely to be the last. Caissie’s swing-and-miss make hitting for average seem unlikely, but the power gives him a chance to be relevant in redraft leagues immediately.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #23
Max Meyer did not factor into the decision Sunday while allowing three runs over five innings against the Rockies.
All three runs allowed by Meyer came on a a double by Jordan Beck with the bases loaded. He was able to still have a solid — if unspectacular — outing with five strikeouts while generating 13 swings and misses before exiting. Meyer will look to get off to a better literal start when he gets back on the bump when he faces the Yankees in New York next weekend.
