  • TOR Relief Pitcher #54
Blue Jays recalled LHP Brendon Little from Triple-A Buffalo.
The 27-year-old reliever will join the Blue Jays as an extra arm as Bowden Francis heads to the injured list. Little has posted a 2.89 ERA, 1.61 WHIP with a 16/8 K/BB ratio in 9 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
  • MIA Catcher #4
Nick Fortes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer against the Athletics on Saturday.
Fortes drove in one of four runs for the Marlins in their blowout loss on Saturday. He took Paul Blackburn deep for a solo homer in the sixth inning, his first of the season. The 27-year-old backstop is slashing an abysmal .141/.179/.219 with five RBI across 68 plate appearances.
  • OAK Starting Pitcher #58
Paul Blackburn tossed seven innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.
Blackburn was excellent against Miami on Saturday, holding them to one run over seven frames. The only run against him was a solo homer by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning. Blackburn scattered three more hits and one walk, striking out three on his way to his third win. The 30-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.05 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 31/10 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Friday.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #28
Trevor Rogers surrendered eight runs over 2 1/3 innings in a loss against the Athletics on Saturday.
After a scoreless first inning, the A’s got on the board with two runs in the second on three hits and a walk. Rogers would record just one out in the third. Brent Rooker took him deep for a two run shot to star the frame, then JJ Bleday would break it open with a three-run homer before Rogers would leave with a runner on. The 26-year-old left-hander ends the day with a bloated 6.15 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, and a 28/15 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Phillies in Miami on Friday.
  • OAK Center Fielder #1
Esteury Ruiz was removed from Saturday night’s lopsided victory over the Marlins with a left wrist injury.
The 25-year-old speedster suffered the injury while making a tremendous diving catch in left field. Fortunately, it appears to be only a minor issue and the A’s are considering him day-to-day. Ruiz had been 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI prior to departing.
  • STL Right Fielder #3
Dylan Carlson (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday.
Pedro Pages will be optioned to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move on Sunday. Carlson has been shelved since spring training due to his shoulder injury but is finally ready to return to the Cardinals’ outfield. Remember, he hit just .219/.318/.333 with five homers, 27 RBI and three stolen bases over 255 plate appearances during the 2023 campaign.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #52
Matthew Liberatore will start for the Cardinals in Sunday’s series finale against the White Sox.
Liberatore has been pitching out of the Cardinals’ bullpen all season and has thrown more than 20 pitches in an outing just once since March 30. Needless to say, he shouldn’t be expected to work deep into Sunday’s game and doesn’t make for a strong streaming option.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm was removed from Saturday night’s game against the Giants due to tightness in his right hip.
The Phillies are calling his early exit only a precautionary measure, and for the time being the 27-year-old third baseman is considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on Sunday though just to be on the safe side.
  • CWS Catcher #26
Korey Lee went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Saturday in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
Lee led off the second inning with a double, then drove in two runs to tie the game with a base hit in the sixth. The 25-year-old backstop is emerging as a solid offensive catcher for the White Sox, slashing .271/.306/.475 with three homers across 62 plate appearances.
  • STL Third Baseman #28
Nolan Arenado went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and two walks on Saturday against the White Sox.
That’s back-to-back games with two hits and three RBI for Arenado. He knocked a base hit in the first inning, then drew a walk in the fourth. With two runners on base in the fifth, he took Erick Fedde deep for a three-run homer, his second of the season. Arenado drew another walk in the eighth and knocked a base hit in the tenth to reach base in all five plate appearances. The 33-year-old third baseman is slashing .290/.357/.403 with the two homers and 19 RBI across 140 plate appearances.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #57
Tanner Banks struck out the final batter in the bottom of the tenth to earn the save against the Cardinals on Saturday.
The contest between the Cardinals and White Sox went into a rain delay with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the tenth. Banks took the mound after a three-hour delay to close it out with a one-run lead. He struck out Iván Herrera to end the game with his first save of the season.
