Reds selected the contract of INF Edwin Rios from Triple-A Louisville.

With Jake Fraley heading to the family emergency medical list, Rios will get his first chance to show the Reds what he can do at the big-league level. The 30-year-old slugger has hit .243/.340/.486 with 11 homers and 27 RBI in 50 games at Triple-A Louisville this season.

Tyler Glasnow (back) fired two scoreless innings in a minor league rehab start for Low-A Ontario on Tuesday.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Glasnow got an additional inning of work in the bullpen to continue building up his pitch count and stamina. He struck out one and allowed one baserunner during the abbreviated 16-pitch outing. He’ll need a couple additional outings before he’s ready to jump back into Los Angeles’ rotation later this month.

The AL East was one of baseball's busiest divisions leading up to Monday's trade deadline, leaving CC Sabathia to assess how the Rays and Yankees stack up following their respective moves.

Joe Musgrove (elbow) allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings in a minor league rehab start for Low-A Lake Elsinore on Tuesday.

Musgrove threw 39 pitches in his first rehab outing as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent back in 2024. There’s an outside shot he’s ready to make his season debut in late August or early September.

Braves re-signed RHP Elieser Hernández to a minor league contract.

Hernández returns to fortify Atlanta’s long relief depth for the home stretch after passing through waivers unclaimed earlier this week. The 31-year-old journeyman has allowed one run over six innings during a pair of relief appearances for the Braves this season.

Royals claimed LHP Connor Thomas off waivers from the Athletics.

Thomas heads to his third organization in the past week after being removed from the Athletics’ 40-man roster over the weekend. The 28-year-old will head to Triple-A Omaha as organizational depth for Kansas City.

Carlos Correa (ankle) has been cleared to start swinging a bat.

Correa is holding out hope that he’ll make it back after undergoing what was originally believed to be season-ending surgery to repair a torn tendon in his ankle back in mid-May. The 31-year-old infielder remains without a definitive return timetable, but it sounds like there’s a chance he’s back at some point in September.

Gavin Sheets (foot) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Sheets takes a seat for the second consecutive contest due to plantar fasciitis. It’s possible he’ll require a trip to the injured list if he’s unable to get back into San Diego’s lineup later this week.

Padres optioned LHP JP Sears to Triple-A El Paso.

Sears earns a ticket back to the minors with San Diego acquiring starter Casey Mize from the Tigers at the trade deadline. The 30-year-old lefty has posted an underwhelming 4.68 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 25/11 K/BB ratio across 32 2/3 innings in the majors this season.

Drew Anderson will start on Wednesday against the Mariners.

Anderson had success overseas in Korea the last two seasons and has looked sharp in a handful of opportunities for Detroit this year. He’s compiled a serviceable 4.24 ERA and 78/24 K/BB ratio across 63 2/3 innings, mostly in relief, for the Tigers this season. He’ll get an extended look in the club’s starting rotation for the final two months and could be a decent streaming option in deeper mixed leagues.

Jackson Jobe (elbow) will be activated to make his season debut against the Giants later this week.

Jobe will draw into Detroit’s new-look rotation following the departures of Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize at the trade deadline when they kick off a three-game series in San Francisco later this week. The hard-throwing 24-year-old was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball in the not-so-distant past and will be making his return to the majors after missing most of the last two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery. He’s struck out 17 batters over 15 1/3 innings during five minor league rehab outings. There are probably going to be some workload restrictions down the home stretch, but Jobe is the type of talent that fantasy managers should at the very least be monitoring closely.
