Sonny Gray had mixed results in Saturday’s victory over the Braves, surrendering five runs on eight hits over seven innings of work.
The 34-year-old hurler recorded 10 strikeouts on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. The contact that he did allow was hard though, as the Braves crushed four solo home runs off of him — including three in the sixth inning alone. Gray generated 15 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night, posting a stellar CSW of 40 percent. He’ll carry a 10-6 record, 3.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 131/24 K/BB ratio (106 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Nationals.
