He’s completed at least six innings in each of his last three starts and has a 1.80 ERA. Going deep into games and being on a good team is a good recipe for winning games. Phillips isn’t always going to throw a complete game shutout and he’s surely due for some regression, but 19 strikeouts in 25 innings suggests this isn’t a complete fluke. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners on the road next week.

Lugo completed a bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and appears poised to rejoin Kansas City’s rotation later this week. The 36-year-old veteran hit the concussion injured list last Friday after being struck in the head by a comebacker during his previous start against the Rangers.

Ramos should make it back to San Francisco’s lineup before the end of June. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has been out with a right quad strain since mid-May.

Ragans underwent an MRI earlier this week after suffering a setback last week in his recovery from an elbow impingement that put him on the injured list back in early May. Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters Tuesday that they want to get a concrete answer in terms of what’s going on with his elbow, which is why he’s being sent to visit another specialist. There should be a clearer idea of his next steps at some point later this week. It certainly doesn’t sound like Ragans will be back at any point in the near future.

Barger has been on the shelf working his way back from elbow inflammation since mid-May. The 26-year-old has progressed to hitting off a pitching machine and throwing from a distance of 150 feet. The hope is that he’ll be ready to start a rehab assignment at some point relatively soon.
