Phillies recalled LHP Kolby Allard from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Allard gets the call to the majors for the first time this season and is presumably an option to start Sunday’s series finale against the Guardians with southpaw Ranger Suárez landing on the injured list with lower back soreness. The 26-year-old former top pitching prospect, who has made 69 appearances (38 starts) in the big leagues dating back to 2018, has compiled an inflated 5.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 69/30 K/BB ratio across 72 1/3 innings (19 appearances, 13 starts) this season in the upper minors. He’s obviously not a recommended streaming option for fantasy managers.
