He’ll give the Reds another versatile option for bench depth.

The biggest development for fantasy purposes here is that emerging star Pete Crow-Armstrong will continue leading off for at least a couple extra games until Happ returns.

The 24-year-old had a rough go of it in the Boston series, but he was able to get back on track Monday to improve his slash to .319/.386/.524. There’s been nothing over this first quarter of the season that suggests he’ll be nothing short of one of the best players in the sport. Again.

Estevez gave up a single that put the tying run at the plate, but he was able to handle the Houston lineup and pick up his 12th save of the season. He’s looked solid for the majority of 2025, and with his sixth scoreless outing out of seven, he now has lowered his ERA to a respectable 2.37.

Wacha also walked a pair against only three strikeouts, but the 33-year-old only allowed two extra-base hits, and both runs against him were scored in the seventh inning in an otherwise very successful outing for the right-hander. Wacha has now won three games on the year against four losses, and his ERA is a healthy 2.96. He’ll try and keep it going — while maybe missing a few more bats — when he faces the Giants on Monday.

Ryan didn’t show much Gusto in this one. Sorry. The right-hander allowed seven hits and walked three, and onlys truck out two in an ugly outing for the 26-year-old rookie. Gusto was due for a bad start considering he had a 2.93 ERA and 29/8 K/BB over his nine appearances this year coming into the outing, but fantasy managers who took a chance and started him against the red-hot Royals should be second-guessing their decision. He’ll get a chance to bounce back next week against the Rangers.

Padres general manager A.J. Preller told reporters on Monday that the back issue won’t impact his long-term development. The 18-year-old is one of the top catching prospects in baseball, but he doesn’t project to make much of a fantasy impact once he reaches the big leagues.

Jump heads to the upper minors after registering an absurd 2.32 ERA and 37.2 percent strikeout rate across 31 innings (six appearances, five starts) for High-A Lansing in his professional debut. The 22-year-old lefty was a second-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and is one of this year’s fastest-rising pitching prospects from a dynasty standpoint.

Langford’s homer in the sixth, a 412-foot blast to right-center, was the Rangers’ first hit of the game off Chase Dollander and one of just three they had on the night. He has seven homers in spite of his early trip to the IL, and he’s batting .263/.350/.492 in 137 plate appearances.
