Michael Lorenzen allowed three runs, two earned, with five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss against the Giants on Tuesday.
Lorenzen held the Giants off the board through three innings before a hit batter, triple, walk, and base hit brought two runs in to score in the fourth. Two more hits brought a third run in to score in the fifth with no outs. Lorenzen struck out two batters and was relieved at 97 pitches with two runners on base. He struck out five on the day. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 3.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 50/16 K/BB ratio across 57 1/3 innings into a start against the Reds in Kansas City on Monday.
