The former starter has a 5.31 ERA in 20 1/3 innings out of the bullpen at Triple-A. He’s not on the fantasy radar and will just be organizational depth in Philadelphia.

The Reds probably won’t make a similar offer to any other free agent, but the Orioles are still on the prowl, with Kyle Tucker, Pete Alonso, Framber Valdez and Ranger Suárez all on their list.

He figures to battle Christian Moore and Kyren Paris for the starting job at second in Anaheim, with Moore perhaps sliding to third if both he and Grissom impress.

Baldelli will return to front office work after seven years managing the Twins. He also spent time as a special assistant with the Rays before moving into coaching. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this is a brief stop for Baldelli, as he figures to be a candidate for more managerial jobs going forward.

That’s a slightly higher annual salary than Schwarber is getting on his five-year, $150 million deal to stay with Philadelphia. Still, even if the Pirates had added a fifth year, they probably didn’t have much of a chance here with the Phillies willing to make such a big commitment. The question now is whether they’ll offer similar dollars to another free agent. Their best route, though, might be to dip into their pitching to acquire Ketel Marte and then use what funds they have left to reinforce their rotation.

Arozarena went 9-for-20 with a homer and nine RBI in the 2023 WBC. Duran played behind Alek Thomas in center and finished 0-for-5. He’ll of course be a starter this time. In 2023, the other outfield spot went to Alex Verdugo, so a change is probably coming there. Perhaps young Rangers outfielder Alejandro Osuna could join the mix.

He’ll make $925,000 if he’s in the majors. Gamboa, 28, was the Dodgers’ ninth-round pick in 2019 and pitched in their farm system until last May, when he made his way to Korea. He wound up 7-8 with a 3.58 ERA and a 117/49 K/BB in 108 innings over 19 starts with Lotte. He’s always been able to generate groundballs, and he could prove to be of some use in middle relief.

With Francisco Lindor at short, Correa was going to give third base a try in the 2023 WBC, only to drop out due to the upcoming birth of his child. Now that Correa is, in fact, a third baseman, it’s an easier fit. Beltrán also confirmed that Riley Greene, Nolan Arenado and George Springer have been invited to play for Team Puerto Rico. Arenado played for Team USA in 2017 and ’23, but he’s expected to switch it up this time.

One would think the younger Contreras would be Venezuela’s catcher of choice, though that is the team’s deepest position; Salvaldor Perez has been the mainstay for the club, and the country has also produced Gabriel Moreno, Francisco Alvarez, Carlos Narváez and Freddy Fermin. Neither Contreras brother played for the team last time around in 2023. Willson could be the team’s best choice at first if he wants to play this time.
