Bryan Reynolds made an early exit from Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.
Reynolds was replaced by Alexander Canario in the bottom of the second inning after striking out swinging in his lone plate appearance of the contest. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Royals signed RHP John Mears to a one-year, $1.9 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Mears was acquired from the Brewers in December after posting a 3.49 ERA in 56 2/3 innings with a chase rate that ranked in the top seven in baseball. The Royals obviously see some strikeout upside there, so Mears could emerge as a late-inning reliever for them in 2026.
Okamoto could be 'undervalued' 2026 fantasy asset
The Blue Jays continued their strong offseason by adding Japanese star Kazuma Okamoto on a four-year deal, leaving Eric Samulski to assess what his presence means for Toronto's offseason plans and fantasy assets.
  • HOU Shortstop #2
Astros signed INF Nick Allen to a one-year, $1.4 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Allen was acquired for Mauricio Dubón back in November and figures to serve as a defensive replacement and utility backup infielder in Houston next season.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #41
Royals signed LHP Daniel Lynch IV to a one-year, $1.025 million deal to avoid arbitration.
The former starter had a solid year out of the bullpen in Kansas City, pitching to a 3.06 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 45/25 K/BB ratio in 67 2/3 innings. The command will need to get better if Lynch is going to repeat that in 2026, but there is some upside with the 29-year-old in the bullpen.
  • KC 2nd Baseman #19
Royals signed INF Michael Massey to a one-year, $1.57 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Massey was limited to just 77 MLB games in 2025 due to injury, but he has hit .243 in 358 career games with the Royals. He figures to enter 2026 as a bench bat.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #36
Royals signed LHP Bailey Falter to a one-year, $3.6 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Falter came over from the Pirates at the trade deadline but made just two starts before landing on the injured list with a bicep contusion that ended his season. The left-hander has some experience in the rotation and out of the bullpen, but he will be given a chance to win a rotation spot in Kansas City in 2026.
  • KC Center Fielder #28
Royals signed OF Kyle Isbel to a one-year, $2.7 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Isbel had an under-the-radar solid year in 2025, hitting .255/.301/.353 while playing good outfield defense for the Royals. He did hit just four home runs and steal four bases, so he’s not much of a fantasy asset, but he’s a solid fourth outfield option in Kansas City.
  • DET Right Fielder #30
Tigers signed OF Kerry Carpenter to a one-year, $3.275 million deal to avoid arbitration.
Carpenter had a strong 2025 season, hitting .252/.291/.497 with 26 home runs; however, injuries limited him to 130 games, and he’s never played over 130 games in his MLB career. He is also primarily a DH and will sit against left-handed pitchers sometimes, which saps some of his fantasy value.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #11
Orioles signed RHP Shane Baz to a one-year, $3.5 million deal to avoid arbitration.
The Orioles dealt for Baz just last month to help spearhead their rotation. The 26-year-old has struggled to regain his pre-injury form since his once elite slider has not come back and posted a 4.87 ERA over 166 1/3 innings in 2025. However, he did have a strong 24.8 strikeout rate and added a cutter in the second half of the season that could help fuel a bit of a breakout in his new home.
  • NYM Catcher #13
Mets agreed to terms with C Luis Torrens on a one-year, $2.275 million contract.
Torrens drew much better reviews for his defense than his offense while playing more than expected for the Mets last season, but Statcast believes he was terribly unlucky to come in at just .226/.284/.345, crediting him an xBA of .280 and an xSLG of .450. Still, the Mets will want Torrens to serve as more of a true backup to Francisco Alvarez if all goes well this year. It’s Torrens’ final season before free agency.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Phillies agreed to terms with 3B Alec Bohm on a one-year, $10.2 million contract.
Bohm fittingly gets a smaller raise this time after going from $4 million in his first year of arbitration in 2024 to $7.7 million last year. He hit .277/.331/.409 last season, a drop of 40 points of OPS from 2024. More importantly in arbitration, though, is that his RBI count went from 97 in 143 games in 2024 to 59 in 120 games last season. He’s been considered a trade candidate in his final year before free agency, but the Phillies will probably hold on to him unless they think they can upgrade.
