Nick Castellanos went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored in a 10-2 rout of the Mets on Friday.
What a week it’s been for Castellanos. After being benched by manager Rob Thompson on Tuesday to snap his consecutive games played streak, he made a great catch in right field to secure their win on Wednesday then led their late inning charge against the Mets here to reclaim first place in the division. After this game was tied 2-2 in the seventh, Castellanos hit a run-scoring single to extend their rally in that inning and dropped the hammer with a two-run homer in the following frame. As usual, he’s been an incredibly reliable run producer in the middle of this Phillies lineup.
