Rainey was hit hard in 11 relief appearances this season for Pittsburgh, compiling a frightening 10.57 ERA across 7 2/3 innings of work. The 32-year-old has been cut loose after spending the last month at Triple-A Indianapolis.

Lee appears to have checked out fine after suffering a bruised left shin when he collided with Guardians catcher Austin Hedges while trying to score on a rundown during the nightcap of Friday’s doubleheader. The versatile 23-year-old has been on a tear at the dish since returning to the majors in mid-June, batting .295 with six homers and 28 RBI over 64 games during that span. He’s at third base with Kevin McGonigle getting a breather after playing in both games of Friday’s twin bill.

DeLauter receives some additional time off after being removed from Friday’s doubleheader with a right wrist sprain. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt expressed optimism that the issue wouldn’t require a trip to the injured list. It seems unlikely that he’ll return this weekend, but it sounds like there’s a chance DeLauter is back in a couple days. It’l be Jo Adell taking over at DH with Petey Halpin drawing into the lineup to patrol center field.

It’s a relief for the Guardians after Martínez suffered a shoulder injury during the nightcap of Friday’s doubleheader against Detroit. The 24-year-old corner outfielder appears to have avoided serious injury following a collision with teammate Brayan Rocchio. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status for the remainder of the weekend.

Stott was scratched from Friday’s lineup to be with his family for the birth of his daughter. He’s back at second base and hitting eighth following a one-game absence.

It might only be a short stay with the Yankees for Domínguez with Aaron Judge (rib) presumably getting close to returning after taking on-field batting practice on Friday. The 23-year-old former top prospect gets another look in the big leagues with Trent Grisham landing on the shelf with a hamstring strain. He’s the type of talent that fantasy managers can never completely dismiss, but his odds of making a fantasy impact down the home stretch are extremely low.

No word yet on the severity, which will determine how much time Grisham misses. The 29-year-old outfielder suffered the injury during Friday’s game against the Padres. He figures to miss at least a couple weeks, even in a best-case scenario. The biggest concern for the Yankees is whether he’ll be ready in time for the postseason, which kicks off in roughly three weeks. There should be some additional clarity on his status by the conclusion of the weekend.

Carroll has been struggling in the second half, batting .212 (36-for-170) with six homers and 11 steals in 45 games since the All-Star break. He’s been ice-cold recently, batting .179 (10-for-56) with one homer and four thefts over his last 15 games. Clearly, the Diamondbacks need to get Carroll back on track if they’re going to have any shot at the postseason. The hope for fantasy managers is that a move down in the order helps take off some some of the pressure going forward.

It’s the first time that Culpepper has batted higher than sixth in Minnesota’s lineup since being promoted to the majors back on August 7. The 24-year-old rookie has been outstanding in his first taste of the big leagues, hitting .301 (25-for-83) with three homers, nine RBI and one steal in 23 games. It would be nice from a fantasy perspective to see Culpepper running a bit more, but it’s hard to complain with his all-around impact so far.

Ross will remain stationed at Triple-A Buffalo as organizational depth behind starter Alejandro Kirk and rookie standout Brandon Valenzuela. The 26-year-old was designated for assignment by the Mets earlier this week. He’s on his third different organization since being promoted to the majors by the Pirates back in late July.

Cox has taken advantage of his opportunity with the rebuilding Giants, hitting .313 (15-for-48) with three homers and five steals in 18 games since returning from the minors on August 14. The unheralded 25-year-old rookie offers an interesting power and speed blend for fantasy purposes and should be rostered in deeper formats, especially since he appears poised to continue batting near the top of San Francisco’s lineup for the final three-plus weeks of the season.
