Braves placed RHP Grant Holmes on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
It’s another major blow to Atlanta’s rotation, which has already been hit hard by injuries to Chris Sale (rib) and Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow). Holmes emerged as a surprising stabilizer this season, posting a solid 3.99 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 123/54 K/BB across 115 innings (22 appearances, 21 starts). The 29-year-old right-hander will undergo further evaluation and imaging to determine the severity of the elbow issue and how much time he might miss. With only two months left in the season, there’s a real chance he doesn’t return.
