Blue Jays designated RHP Chad Green for assignment.

Green has been removed from Toronto’s 40-man roster to make room for newly acquired reliever Seranthony Domínguez. The 34-year-old veteran has been a key cog in the club’s relief mix since 2023, but he’s struggled to an inflated 4.85 ERA across 42 2/3 innings this season.

Kazuma Okamoto was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox with a left knee contusion.

Okamoto winds up being scratched for the second straight game due to a knee issue. It’s fair to wonder if he’ll require a trip to the injured list or the Blue Jays are merely being cautious. It’ll be rookie Charles McAdoo, who homered in his return to the big leagues on Monday night, taking over at third base once again.

Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters Roman Anthony (finger) is getting closer to starting a minor league rehab assignment.

Anthony isn’t quite ready yet, but he’s on the precipice of facing live pitching again, according to Tracy. He added that Anthony has progressed to hitting off a Trajekt machine, which is ostensibly his final step before a live batting practice session. The 22-year-old prodigy has been on the shelf working his way back from a partially torn tendon in his right ring finger since early May. It sounds like there’s a realistic possibility that he’s back in Boston at some point in September.

Yankees recalled RHP Bradley Hanner from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Hanner gets his first opportunity with the Yankees after being added to the club’s 40-man roster last month. The 27-year-old has pitched to an encouraging 2.10 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 61/24 K/BB ratio across 51 1/3 innings on the doorstep of the big leagues this season. He’ll get a look in low-leverage duty during his first taste of the majors.

Yankees placed RHP Kervin Castro on the 15-day injured list with right elbow neuritis.

No word yet regarding how much time Castro will miss. The 27-year-old was pitching extremely well in low-leverage spots for New York, allowing one run over 6 1/3 innings of work this season.

Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Rockies.

There was some optimism that Perdomo would be able to give it a go after making an early exit from Monday’s series opener with left knee soreness. The 26-year-old receives some additional time off to rest and recover with veteran Ildemaro Vargas taking over at shortstop with recently acquired Lars Nootbaar moving up to the leadoff spot in his absence. Perdomo appears likely to avoid the injured list and remains day-to-day for now.

Bryce Harper is back in right field for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.

Harper is back patrolling right field after being limited to DH in three of Philadelphia’s last four games as a result of knee soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a massive concern, but fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the final few weeks, especially since playing right field on a regular basis is going to result in more wear and tear than usual.

Davis Martin will start against the Reds on Thursday.

Martin’s next outing has been moved up a couple days after he threw just 23 pitches over one inning during a rain-shortened start against the Guardians on Sunday.

Phillies recalled RHP Alex McFarlane from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

McFarlane bolsters Philadelphia’s overworked bullpen heading into Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals. The 25-year-old made his big-league debut last month before being shipped back to the minors. He’ll operate in low-leverage spots for the Phillies.

Phillies optioned RHP Alan Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Rangel returns to the minors after gobbling up 2 2/3 innings in relief of Andrew Painter during Monday’s contest against the Cardinals. The 28-year-old boasts an inflated 5.88 ERA across 26 innings of work in the big leagues this season.

Kazuma Okamoto (knee) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Red Sox.

Okamoto is back at third base and hitting seventh after being scratched from Monday’s lineup with a left knee contusion. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern moving forward.
